Beyoncé has worked hard to make sure her catalogue is diverse and has experimented with more genres than most artists in existence. She has worked with artists ranging from James Blake to Frank Ocean to Caroline Polechek to Stevie Wonder to Diplo. She had broken so many barriers, and opened doors for people from all walks of life. Beyoncé may have roots in Hip-Hop, but if she is anything more than another, she is a contemporary R&B artist, but that is still watering down her achievements. The craziest part is calling Beyoncé “HipHop” against Diana Ross of all people. Are any Diana Ross songs being played today other than the HIP-HOP song she’s sampled in? I would suggest that Diana Ross is just Hip-Hop. and let’s not get started on that clip of StephOFFKey sadly attempting to sing the “hip hop” classic Love on Top. This made me breakdown in tears. As someone who remembers having my mom take me to the store to buy ‘…Baby One More Time’ and seeing her growth as a young star, it makes me so sick to know her family abused her like this. She was so full of light and kindness and was just going through growing pains as someone who didn’t grow up with a normal childhood. Her family is evil and her mom and dad, they shouldn’t even be called that, should be in jail for kidnapping and torture. Her sister will rot in hell. What makes me most sad is that she is still somehow rationalizing things when she says “they thought I’d come running back to them”. They literally wanted her to die.
