SAVED With all jokes put aside to answer this question for a moment, I truly believe Katy will never get back even a quarter of what she once had, even if she ended up making music the public & music critics would have very favourable opinions towards. One thing most of us can agree upon is that it wasn't necessarily Katy's recent music alone that buried the hatchet of her now essentially non-existent career, but the behaviour and choices she made along the way that ended up to this point. Her discography post-Prism had the potential to be given much more acknowledgement and chances in being listened to and reviewed by a lot more people had she not proven herself time and time again that she is not a person worthy of any sort of respect at all and was just another byproduct of 2010's liberal/white feminism. People severely underestimate how abhorrent Katy's actions were, specifically the topic of sexual assault. There should be absolutely no surprise when Katy showed zero empathy nor support for Kesha during her trial about her facing rape and abuse that affected her entire career and personal being, as she is someone well known for being the perpetrator of S/A and highly inappropriate contact towards underage fans. If Katy ever decides to take accountability for the things she's done (not sure how likely it is this route will be taken), publicly addressing the situation with both her ignorance towards Kesha's horrific situation (along with immediately severing all ties with Luke) and hypocrisy about global warming in the topic of the Blue Origin "trip", either in interviews or on social media would be the best start. ^ EDIT: I was considering adding her possibly publicly apologising to Ruby Rose/Josh Kloss/Benjamin Glaze/said underage fans I mentioned above... Yet I don't really think much change would come out of apologies for sexually assaulting several people- especially with how long it's been without any actual repercussions being enforced.* She'll need to take a long break to evaluate how she'd like to take her career past the point in letting everyone receive and hear her message. In terms of Katy and her music, she won't be reliving what she used to be known as, but theres a chance she could turn a new leaf artistically and try something new for her remaining fanbase. I think what she really needs is to find writers and producers that see and emphasise her musical capabilities/strengths, because 143 proved itself to be the polar opposite of that concept. She could write really well with Matthew Thiessen (wrote some songs for (A) Katy Perry), Greg Wells (cowrote Waking Up In Vegas, Mannequin, Lost, Fingerprints, Not Like The Movies, BTGOG, etc.) and possibly rekindling with Glen Ballard and Butch Walker if she'd like to revisit her original sound as well. Julia Michaels, Daniel Nigro could also have potential for more modern pop influence. tl;dr -- Katy will never relive a fraction from what she used to have and the first and only way to start really "redeeming" herself atp is to openly acknowledge her main scandals, take accountability for them, & apologise because those are what really led to her downfall, not her genre switches. 'Scandals' referring to being extremely hypocritical about advocating for the workaround of climate change by taking the Blue Origin "trip" and her support (or lack thereof) for Kesha/openly and proudly working with Dr Luke. She also needs to face repercussions- hopefully legal- for being a serial harasser + predator. In terms of music, she needs a long break to evaluate what she wants to put out for her remaining fanbase, which I think should be getting back with her much older writers (Glen Ballard, Matthew Thiessen, Greg Wells, Butch Walker) and maybe experiment with Julia Michaels and Daniel Nigro. Making a second and much more mature One Of The Boys sounding record may just be what she needs, and 143 certainly was not that.

response copied and pasted below because this is something I wrote in regards to this topic via text: I think even if she actually has an eating disorder or anything going on behind the scenes that is triggering this whole conversation online, most, not all people online do not care and are only looking for an excuse to harass women for their bodies. They've been doing this to her especially since Sweetener and TUN. She was 100% in the right for mentioning in that post about how people need to be a lot more gentler and considerate with eachother because the **** that people do and say to others surrounding the topic of weight drives them to very unhealthy places… physically and psychologically. I have no doubts there are people legitimately concerned, I struggle with EDs myself and I express a lot of concern and empathy for her in this situation as well because I can understand what people are trying to say, it's just that if we took a look at how the public is treating her its not making this any better or more encouraging for an open and respectful conversation. like if I was her right now, I would probably be doing the same thing in taking time away (like she recently announced) because almost nobody in the online space takes it seriously. Nothing is making this situation any better and you can only hope that if there is something happening it's being taken care of by Ari and her circle, I think thats the best you'd want for anybody, even your own friends and family who may be experiencing similar situations. It's taboo and almost ineffective because, and this is important to point out, Ariana is somebody we don't know. She may already be getting this taken care of behind the scenes hopefully with the support and encouragement of her inner circle. I'm not going to sit here and act like nothing is happening especially as someone who has seen many people along with myself go through similar situations. But there is a lot of things to take in consideration when it comes to eating disorders. You can only hope that will be okay in the end of all of this. You'd think after years of us working towards making the world a more safer environment for women to be more outspoken on body issues with gentleness and consideration embedded within the conversations we'd actually see that being in-affect today.

I tend to get very agitated towards the thought that me going online and seeing the same fandom that I've previosuly been in and seen first hand carry and spread a lot of the harmful arguments/qualities i mentioned earlier, and still does, are non-realistic. It kind of just feels like Im being completely disregarded? I am absolutely aware someone can call another person a dumb b*tch without being the devil, except that wasnt my point. Again, the reason why that was mentioned is because it's an objective example of inappropriate behavior within it's context. About the guy from american idol, I still think its very weird for a 34 year old woman to kiss a barely legal teenager regardless if there is consent or not in that situation, he has said himself that he was "uncomfortable immediately". i could offer you to reverse the gender roles and see how that would look in that context, but i shouldnt need to because gender shouldnt have to be an opinion-altering factor when it comes to grown people kissing teenagers. His opinions on whether it was sexual assault or not are invalid because there is an objective definition of sexual assault, that was my overall point. Im more than willing to have a conversation with you about the kloss situation, not very sure if this is the appropriate place to have it though. I have absolutely nothing against you as a person either, it's just that I took your earlier messages as a question against my own experiences, because I really believe that if you go onto twitter (for example) and look up "katy perry ruby rose" or "katy perry kesha", within 5 minutes of scrolling you will see a good portion of katycats running to defense of katy with arguments that consist of old stereotypical victim blaming.

I absolutely never said katy perry nor any other celebrity is perfect, not sure why that had to be said? In terms of sky and katy, i really dont gaf if they were friends, a 25 year old telling a 17 year old she hopes her child "doesn't look like a monkey" (mind you, sky wasnt even pregnant) is very inappropriate not sure why that needs to be explained either. I wouldn't have included the Katie Perry trademark situation hadn't Katy gone in her emails in 2009 and refer to her as a "dumb *****" to her then manager Steven Jensen. I also do not think a barely legal male who was kissed un-consensually on live television gets to make the judgement if he was sexually assaulted or not, the act alone is sexual assault. I would also like to see your sources as to where Josh Kloss was "obsessed" with Katy, I've never heard of that. I have not taken it way too far with a woman who has had several S/A allegations in and outside of her career as well as wildly inappropriate behavior, a lot of times those situations involving teenagers. And your "Just focus on individuals who say wild things" also shows you very clearly have no presence anywhere near the KatyCats online sphere and disregarding my time with being in there for over a decade. I do not know how much of the KatyCat fandom you've seen jump straight on the bandwagon whenever someone has accused katy not only of S/A but just from inappropriate behaviour (the Katie Perry/Taylor trademark lawsuit, Sara Liebe leaving American Idol after Katy's comments to her, out of pocket Sky Ferreira tweets, & so on), but the immediate being at Katy's beck and call defence and the same arguments for her allegations, which a LOT of the times are very harmful misogynistic rhetoric + victim blaming, and lack of being open to admit that Katy HAS done wrong within any of those situations is repetitive behaviour from almost the entire fandom that're chronically online. "Ruby Rose has history of mental illness, how do we know all of this is true?", "Bo Burnham was 18 when Katy said that stuff to him and so was the American Idol guy she kissed, it was legal", "Kesha only came forward with her allegations to get out of a recording contract", "Josh Kloss has no evidence of him being assaulted by Katy" Were all VERY common comebacks to make by the fandom in respect to each of their situations. I understand that testament of wanting to defend your idol from allegations if there is genuine, substantial evidence they are not guilty of said claims, but with the amount of claims katy HAS against her, even as she is out of her peak right now, it's actually getting to a point where it's very suspicious. And there is an obvious, overwhelming majority online KatyCats that are almost never open to hold their fave accountable that she is responsible for at least one of them. I can attest from how much victim blaming this fandom does as an ex-Katycat from nearly 11 years who would also push the same rhetoric and victim blaming a good amount of Katycats do and the plethora of online groupchats, Twitter threads, Tumblr blogs, ATRL comments, etc. and can also say how ashamed of my own past behavior and concerned I am for the current behaviour still repeated by others in 2026.
