I am happy you brought this up because I feel similarly. Too often the gay guy coming out gets all the congratulations and support for finally living their truth and the straight partner is an afterthought. They were forced into somebody elses closet and often without their knowledge or permission . I don't want to know what it does to a woman's self esteem or trust to be in a relationship with somebody who can't desire them. I had sex with a couple of girls while trying not to be gay in university and it was mechanical as ****. Insert tab A into slot B. Yeah, it worked but there was no joy, no heat, no wanting or cuddling afterwards. I could not creat any of that. Just awkwardness. I'm very much aware that times weren't always great and everyone has a different reason for being closeted (work, religion, family... you name it ) but I feel that society made me do it is a bit of a lame excuse.
