That's true, unfortunately. Female artists' fanbases consist of mostly other women, gay men and a few curious/progressive straight men. But this also means that a superusuccessful female artist like Adele or Taylor is popular with almost everyone except straight men.

We are a huge market, Spotify launch in Russia was the most successful for a reason.

It's a great chart performance for such a mediocre song. If it was released by an unknown noname artist, no one would even notice it. It went #2 'cause Bieber's still big.

His album was panned by critics and "Someone You Loved" appeared in a lot of "worst" lists.

And Lewis's album was released in May. But he's a superstar in the UK. "Divinely..." is UK's #1 album of 2019. Interesting fact: they both have 5 top 10 hits in the UK. But Selena has released 6 albums and Lewis released one. I like Selena's album better, tbh. Even though I don't get the hate on Lewis and I like some of his songs.

It's a long complicated story. Spotify tried to launch in Russia in 2015 but failed. In March 2018 they said they're coming to India and Russia. In March 2019 there was a rumour Spotify would launch this summer (it didn't). In August 2019 it was delayed till the end of the year. It's the end of the year.

Initially she was booked for a club (a big club though) but the concert was moved to a 12-13k arena due to a high demand. Tickets were sold out quickly. I was really lucky to receive a ticket.

Tophit isn't a real chart though. It's more of a radio chart. But she's really big in Russia and doing great on Yandex Music, BOOM and Apple. She and Lil Nas X are the only English-language acts to appear in BOOM year-end chart. Her debut album was the most streamed on Yandex this year.
