Spotify has categorized The Fame Monster as a compilation. Is this the same for you?

NYT explains why Beyoncé was not included on their ‘Greatest Living Songwriters’ list
tbh I doubt Bey has sat down a lot and wrote a whole song just to express sth in the way Taylor or Gaga for example might do it ( that's solely my assumption though based on interviews, writing style, output etc). that doesn't mean she's NOT a songwriter. it's very obvious she's the brain behind her work (and not just songwriting but also production ,editing the songs, themes, aesthetics, costumes etc) so having a team (like she has for set design at performances for example) isn't that much of a drag most people think. The output and the whole direction of her work is very much her own work and that's the reason she has one of the most polished and cohesive discographies this whole debate seems stupid imo. it's like saying any MPG's video isn't theirs cause someone else directed it, choreographed, did the styling. especially when you listen to her songs and you KNOW it's a Beyonce song

Lady Gaga
also considering how happy and in a much healthier mental state she seems to be right now, I feel like LG8 will be so light thematically. I can't remember if there was ever an album making process, when she wasn't haunted by dark experiences. MAYHEM maybe to an extent

idk why some of y'all even bother dragging M's numbers. she's not gonna have a hit especially with dance pop music for the same reason Gaga (and other older MPGs) don't smash with these type of songs as much/regularly. younger audiences (who drive most songs' success) will not connect to older women (esp at Madge's age) singing about clubs, sex etc over dance/edm/bubblegum pop or generally upbeat songs cause sexism and ageism. No matter the quality of the output.

Spotify | Madonna/Sabrina - Bring Your Love | Day 5: 1.143M streams
great numbers considering the circumstances tbh madonna has been really smart doing collabs with all the it girls/boys for the past decade+. she's on the radar (even briefly) of the newer generations. Even though personally I feel like the quality of her output is a decline for the past eras (I stanned RH but the demos>>>>) it's refreshing to me seeing a 60 sth year old woman with such a trailblazing career, just doing her thing and not conforming with the image society wants to put older women in. imo a more ROL inspired album is where she should head but congrats miss M anyone dragging this or any other Madge release number should really consider where their faves will be at this age

also I really love everything going on since HQ. Even if I don't connect to everything to the same extent,I feel like she's having fun exploring different sides of her and her art through different sounds and aesthetics. She's done jazz, industrial, dance pop etc and having a range of deep and intimate songs like VIY and BOG (don't read it plz) to silly pop songs like RUNWAY and TDD. Kind of genius tbh cause she's on everyone's radar one way or another. Idk if she's doing it purely for fun, fan service or purely trying to see where she's at right now musically/sonically but I feel like the more industrial/rock songs are the most interesting and thought out (also the requiem renditions of mayhem) which makes me think she's actually heading there for her next project.

Lady Gaga
RUNWAY video is so excellent. Fits the vibe and essence of the song (even though I think it's really meh as a song esp. for the creative forces that both ladies are. I hope they have another collab in the works tbh) I missed seeing Gaga in so many campy and maximalist looks.

Legendary Lovers got more streams than Gaga's Runway. Why?
Legendary Lovers is objectively the superior and also more "universal" song and people just discovered it thanks to TikTok. Runway is a campy gay bop that obviously is not gonna have mainstream appeal for the same reason any gay shallow song never becomes a (huge) hit. which is the reason many songs of Gaga (and other mpgs too) don't become super massive huge hits as they don't have a universal GP appeal that any or most demographics will listen to. When Gaga's done it with DWAS,Shallow (ASIB in general) and TEOG/Telephone etc she's had huge hits too. Half of the world wants queers to f*ck off and y'all are shocked why they're not streaming the sashay Gagay ass song. just read the song for being basic and stupid. This whole thing just makes Katy's case worse cause in general her discography and image/persona is easy to digest by the GP , yet for the past years only her old work gets revisited which means the output isn't good (music wise or image wise) and people don't check on her now.
