How do I recover from this?

Featured Replies

I've had my heart broken yesterday from someone I thought would never do so.

I've been dating someone for two months, and I know that's short but we've been together everyday pretty much from our first date. We facetimed every night, and always spoke throughout the day. He had just broke up with his boyfriend a month prior to joining Tinder. I assumed that was a red flag, but we had so much In common. Everything from horror, to TV shows to food, to all of It. Our first time facetiming was eight hours, and then he stayed at my house until 4 In the morning.

We talked for hours, and I fell for him right then and there. Since that date, we constantly facetimed and went on dates and were together. I made him dinner, and slept over his house. It was non stop In a healthy way. He always texted me everyday, and wanted to call.

He's from London, so he had to go on a trip to see his family. When we facetimed, he told me he wanted to be my boyfriend when he got back officially. When he went, It felt fine and then felt cold. He then randomly sent me a text message which gave me a panic attack because I was sleeping and woke up to a super long message which I thought he was ending things. He said that he wasn't ready for a relationship label right away, and didn't want to end things and really really liked me and cared about me and wanted a bit more time before putting a label on us. And that he didn't want to lose me, and wasn't going anywhere. He was really cold when I said that text triggered me tho, and affected me. He made me feel safe after a while and said he would have prefered to have seen me In person and told me that but It easier since he was away, and I got over It. He comes back, and we're still seeing each other everyday and having an amazing time. But It always felt off. I never really recovered from that. We had made all of these plans to do stuff, and then on the day that we were doing something Important that night he texted me saying that we need to end things. That he doesn't have the emotional capacity to be In a relationship, and then blocked me everywhere. I started breaking down. He wouldn't call me, or see me In person. He said he didn't feel comfortable doing that, and can't. I ended up going to the hospital because I've been going through a really tough time. I have a heart condition, and blood pressure Issues so I fainted at work. When he found out, he just said omg I hope you're okay, and that was It. Didn't even come to see me. And then texted me this morning when I was at work saying we cannot talk anymore, and he will not come and say goodbye.

I'm heartbroken. Again I know It was two months, and I tried very hard to make sure I didn't get too attached for heartbreak. But the amount of things we did together, our conversations, how safe I felt with him just made me feel broken. I keep crying.

Dating Is very hard for me, and I just felt like I finally found my person. How do I recover from this?

I'm sorry that happened to you chick3 But I'm shook at you and him facetiming for 8 hours straight redface maybe I'm too antisocial but that seems like a literal idea of hell to me

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this.

You will get over it and recover from this. However, you were a rebound and you were giving him attention, a thing he lost from his previous relationship... like you said it, it was "red flag" that he was single for a month. He is still processing his breakup and has to figure out his stuff.

That being said, you should look into attachement theory, sounds like you might have an anxious attachment style. I also suggest therapy, so you can heal some parts of yourself and avoid falling for "unavailable men". Even though, you feel hurt, you've dogged a bullet, this guy showed you who he is. Take one day at a time, and you will be good in time.mp3

The simple answer is time. It feels terrible now, but it won't always.

If you want some advice for next time: fast beginnings lead to fast ends. This is true 90% of the time with relationships, and as I read your description of how things got started, I knew exactly how it would end. People are afraid of commitment, and him being fresh out of a relationship made it even more obvious. Even if you really like someone in the future, I still recommend taking it more slowly and allowing the relationship to progress at a natural pace, where you both have time apart to assess your feelings. Heartbreak is terrible, but go stream The Cure and I hope you feel better soon heart

The two responses above are pretty spot on. I just want to add that there are a TON of people out there who can be your person. One of the most inaccurate things I see people about dating/relationships is that thereʻs just one right person out there for them. Itʻs BS.

Iʻm sorry youʻre going through this, and I hope you take care of yourself heart

Find a hotter and more interesting guy that is more consistent and self-confident from a healthy place.

There is no such thing as « non stop In a healthy way ».

I hope you will learn from this and won't let it break your spirit and your search for love. But in the meantime try to understand why you have so much of your time to someone you barely knew.

and last but not least, please trust your guts next time as it was indeed a red flags. No one just single for a month will be ready for a new relationship so fast.

Someone trying to facetime is automatically blocked from my life, idc if it's family

In addition to what those above have said, you need to remember that none of this is a reflection on you as a person. That's a really awful way of him to behave and in a way it's good you found out what he's really like 2 months in vs getting into a relationship with him. Reach out to your friends and family if you haven't done so. I find when I'm not feeling so good, it helps to make plans to have something to look forward to. Obviously it's ok to feel sad, but remember this man is not worth your time or your energy. The person you fell for wasn't real. Onto bigger and better things

Ummm maybe realise there's people like me who have never been in a relationship of any kind, and you should be grateful for the experience instead of complaining.

he's so full of **** omg not ready my BUTTHOLE i'm so sorry sis u will heal from this

ugh I've been there… it's always so weird how much it hurts despite it being so short. It's a mix of shock, disappointment and feeling worthless. It always passes tho, you will be fine. Most gays on tinder just look for a way to get over their ex
