Not even Shakira smashed globally with Spanish Music, most of her achievements out of the Hispanic world come from her English music the way some of you call Karol a flop just because she doesn't ach

Shakira ended her Bye, Karol G. You'll never be famous on a global scale.

Yes. She is a bit cringy right now. She kinda lost the cool factor she had three years ago, which is not so long. She should take some time off.

Not really, context matters. She rush released this album & she isn't even performing Matadora on tour yet.

Nah cos I only just started listening to her and I'm kinda obsessed

Sí, su HORRIBLE versión de Vivo por Ella (con Andrea Bocelli) fue el principio del fin.

She doesn't even have one ww SMASH so was she ever really a thing? It all seemed inflated.

Shakira ended her

cause its Spanish music? There's certain markets like Australia and UK that are not receptive to Spanish music. She has plenty of global hits in markets that consume Spanish music. Her last solo smash hit is almost at 2b streams, in addition to 8 other billion streamed songs (4 solo). Inflated where, it's literally just stats. rip

K-pop stars are smashing with a Korean music worldwide. And Shakira smashed with Spanish-language hits like La Tortura.

And so is Karol G... again, where isn't she smashing? places like the UK and Australia. Both of those markets are literally Shakiras worst markets as well, and La Tortura didn't even chart there. Just talking to talk rip

Shakira was actually massive in Australia back in the day but for some bizarre reason Oral Fixation vol 1 was not released there or in the UK I believe

Because, at the time, no Spanish (or any foreign language album, big or small) dented the top 100 at all in either region. They didn't bother at all to send shipments or promote there. Even nowadays, only Shakira, Karol, Bad Bunny or Rosalía could possibly do that in those countries with a Spanish album, if that.

Yes, with her English music. But Australia and UK have never been receptive to Spanish music, besides a few anomalies.

1. Fijacion Oral Vol 1. didn't even have a real release in the UK

2. Nonetheless, La Tortura has been certified for selling over 200k

Yeah you're right, it's really only novelty hits like Macarena and Despacito both of which smashed with remixes with English lyrics added

I said ww lol, there have been plenty of ww latin smashes. I come from the Balkans and we love latin music, but she doesn't have a smash hit here, I doubt many people even know her

I was simply giving an explanation why it didn't chart back then? lol

And that user wrote "worldwide" not just the UK. And it was a hit in SA, in the US and in Europe (minus UK).

for me this time of the year is packed with great releases, and her cover is not on brand with her, looks like reheated britney nachos
