Britney recalls meeting Shakira for the first time; Calls her twin
nah the UYC music video was filmed in 2002. In this video Britney talks about meeting her two weeks earlier. That interview was in Sept 2001 when she was in Australia and two weeks prior she had her video shoot for S4Y. She also mentions that she has listened to her music. Perhaps, after meeting her, she had someone get her the DELL album for her because she wanted to check out her music, and that's when she saw the visuals featuring the colored braids or someone showed her her old music videos. So that's why I assumed that she likely just mixed something up when she wrote that tweet "ive been searching all day because i recall reading they were filmed the same day but i dont see that being possible" LMAO me too! And it bothers me that I can't figure out a correct timeline I don't think that info about the date in May is correct. But a video shoot in September can't be right either when the the song was already released on August 27th. Or was the song initially released only on the radio, and the video shoot didn't take place until a few days later? Is that plausible? In any case, according to Britney, they met in early September just as mentioned in the interview above.

Britney recalls meeting Shakira for the first time; Calls her twin
"I remember meeting Shakira for her "Whenever, Wherever" video. She had all these cool braids and colors in her hair, and I had just woken up from a nap going there in the car, and she had just woken up from a nap in her trailer." She remembers incorrectly, though. She's actually describing "¿Dónde Están los Ladrones?" Shaki with the black hair and the braids and not the full blonde Shaki from the video shoot.

When they positioned that security guard right in front of her at one of the concerts. That was definitely intentional! Lock her up!

Shakira & Burna Boy - "Dai Dai" (2026 FIFA World Cup)
Exactly! It's perfectly fine if the song doesn't stay at the top of the charts any longer. Sooner or later, the decline is bound to happen. It's a fantastic achievement to have the longest-running #1 on Spotify this year but even if it hadn't stayed at the top for so long, it still would have been a great success. Who would have even thought at the beginning that the song would become such a massive hit? What an incredible run and what a great year for her so far! The ongoing tour, the highest-attended concert in Mexico's history, Copacabana, hitting #1 globally on all platforms with Dai Dai, her performance at the opening and closing at the World Cup. And now, her upcoming residency in her own stadium in Madrid

She has this one playlisted on her channel: Also why is this making more noise in Poland than in Brazil and Portugal combined? lmao

Germany: Shakira's Dai Dai longest running #1 in 2026 / Phoebe Bridgers #2 Katseye #4
It was not a hit upon its initial release. The song only gained momentum this year, reaching the top 10 for the first time in June. It has since remained in the top 10 for eight weeks.
