with the announcement of the new album, I thought I'd give her discography a go as I'd only really heard honey, body talk and some songs from ST. I've genuinely been so gagged at the quality of her earlier albums. Even Don't stop the music is fire and that's from like 2002 lol.

what's everyone's thoughts on her early work? Also nice to see her earlier albums had more than 9 songs

I really like Don't Stop The Music. It has one of her best songs

I'm more of an electropop fan so her early albums don't really interest me. Self-Titled is great, there aren't any 10/10 wigs snatchers on there but plenty of great bops, some cool left-field stuff on there too. Body Talk I LOVE about half of it, but a lot of it is kinda generic faceless dance pop of it's time. Do It Again and Love is Free EPs both have bops, Honey took some time to grow on me but it's great, probably my fave of hers.

She's 3 for 3 on Sexistential, and I LOVE the two songs she dropped this week, they're among her best. She's poised to drop her first album that I'll become full-on obsessed with I think.

A lot of gheys only claim her 2010 to now but she has the best teen pop album of anyone imo, her 2002 album has a lot of bangers and her self titled is sooo forward thinking but also so classic 2000s. A lot of her true gems are pre Body Talk. I also love the Body Talk EP tracks that didn't make the final album. It's a very strong discography all round

I love Robyn (album), Body Talk, must say I never fully got in her 90s stuff. Don't Stop The Music is cute for what it is. Honey was nice, but has less replay value for me.

But I must say over time I also begin to appriciate the collab EPs Love Is Free and Do It Again a lot more.

For me, her "Konichiwa Records" era-onward are pretty much all minimum 4 out of 5 releases. I genuinely can't decide on one specific favorite album or EP, but I find her 2005/08 self-titled album so be so underrated that I'm usually inclined to pick that. Agreed with the Body Talk non-album songs that float on the trilogy EPs also being amazing, but I kinda forget about them sometimes. Sexistential is absolutely going to join this group.

I suppose being so into the Royksopp & Baguette (can't remember their names right now nn) EPs so much compared to other Robyn stans, or casuals, made the gap between Body Talk & Honey more seamless both in timing and how the sound of Honey wasn't so "wtf why isn't she doing straight up electro-pop bangers" to me personally. Seeing her live with Honey probably helped my extreme love for that record too, but I genuinely have always thought it was amazing.

I only really recall giving Robyn is Here a proper listen of her pre-Konichiwa Records music a listen, and it was cute. I'd like to give all 3 a listen alongside her discography as a whole prior to Sexistential (album) dropping in March.

Don't Stop the Music is probably her most underrated album and possibly my favorite album of hers (tied with Honey), incredible work.
