Isn't this a couple months late? I thought the song was made a single in October 2010 when the video came out, not December? I also vividly recall that it started getting airplay before the 2010 holiday season, and she performed it at a couple award shows in November 2010 as well.

Capitol Records released "Firework" as the third Teenage Dream single on October 26, 2010.

This song was inescapable. I was in school when it came out and EVERYONE loved it, from students to the professors. I'm not really a Katy fan but the Teenage Dream era was so much fun to live through.

This was the first Katy Perry song I ever heard, I remember watching Madagascar 3 and this song played during that circus scene, and I wondered who the song and artist were. Great needledrop moment!
