I mean, I would have loved it charting for another week, but the truth is that an album without a (new) hit won't have longevity if you're a legacy artist with weak streaming figures. Even Miley's album only charted for two weeks. 

 

Additionally, the album campaign was 3 months long with 5 singles + promo basically being over once the tour started, so everyone who was interested in the album definitely bought it the first week and not later.

 

Even if it had managed to chart for 1-2 more weeks, that really wouldn't have changed anything in the grand scheme of things. 

 

The tour will probably outgross most of her previous tours combined and the money she makes off of that will be more useful for her than a few more thousand sold copies or few million more streams of Period could ever be. 

 

I think Crush's idea was to get a decent chart debut for Period to get some good PR and otherwise focus on the tour which totally worked out.

Back from getting mass-downvoted these past couple days in the Gaga base for trashing Mayhem

 

 

'.' is going to be one of those albums that remain sounding fresh no matter how many times you replay. We need a double deluxe or something w physical copies + maybe a few remix music videos? I dunno. GLOW still remains that *****

 

In reality I don't really care at all how her chart performance goes anymore— a top 20 debut was way more than I was expecting and I'm happy about it. That being said I don't really care if they put more focus into this album or not. I'd rather they sort of move on to a new one with quicker speed. New music in 2026 would be awesome and probably a smarter move in some ways 

So some of you really thought it's going to be there this week too?

I think they won't merely for practical reasons alone.

 

She's on tour currently and the marketing guy from Crush already announced more legs in other territories will be announced soon. I assume there will be a second US leg too given how well the tour did there so far. That means she will most likely be on tour for several more months and the European shows only take place in March next year. By the time those have concluded, she will surely be working on the next project already.
