Play is a another nice piece of work for Ed but nothing extraordinary. Glad he experimented with some exotic sounds on couple of songs.

I think it's his best album since Divide, but without the strength of singles from Equals. Def think he chose wrong singles, but he's clearly set for life and making music for the fans and not for the crowds.

The 2nd half was less messy but at the same time ballads, we already know that tha's Ed stromg card. my fave ones are the Thinking Out Loud / Perfect similar ones LOL

 

 

Why he decided to release as singles the worst songs?

i really love the album, it has perfect balance of heart felt songs and bops

This is a cute album, nothing groundbreaking, but it's fun and touching at the same time, and very easy to listen to. I like the influence of other cultures on some songs. My faves are Sapphire, Symmetry, Camera, Slowly, Don't Look Down, In Other Words and For Always. 

Sapphire (both the original and the Arjit Singh remix) are my favourite Ed songs ever. The serotonin rush the chorus gives me is unparalleled.

From the new songs, my favourite is Symmetry. I LOVE the Bollywood influences and tabla in the background, it reminds me of Come & Get It by Selena Gomez.

are they for real? this is a much better bop than the actual singles

It's a solid effort, I think Azizam is a really weak lead single though. Still like it but majority of the album is better than it.

 

Among the new tracks, Symmetry, Camera, For Always, Opening, Don't Look Down, The Vow, and Freedom are all great. I still think A Little More should have been the lead.

 

I also really like Old Phone but now hearing the other ballads it actually really pales in comparison, another wrong song released as a promo song.

His best ballad for me is One....and i like bad habits love the synth and 80s referencea...but my favorite ed bangers bloodstream and castle on the hill.
