Post your perfect GUTS rollout (singles)

Featured Replies

The album has the potential to be just as big as Sour, but the single rollout was in the incorrect order.

June 2023: So American - Summer smash, this song is too good to be a B-side bonus track. Too bad the GP isnt aware of this song because it couldve been her biggest smash yet.

Sept 2023: Vampire - Single along with the album. With heavy Halloween focused promo. Downtempo great for winter.

Feb 2024: Pretty Isn't Pretty - Another hit that got away, and it's such a grower the lyrics just hit so hard. With the rise of soft-rock this would've dominated 2024, with massive longevity lasting all summer long.

May 2024: Obsessed - This works as a single for the deluxe (GUTS spilled), but I'd push the release back to a May release with the 1st 3 singles having longevity. It would have it's nice moment in the summer, before focus switches back to PIP.

Sept 2024: Bad Idea Right? ft Chappell Roan - With this never being a single, I would see it being a massive fan favourite, so giving it a Chappell ft would allow it to flourish in Q4 of 2024.

June 2023: Vampire released as lead. It was always THEE excellent lead aka song of the decade fa me

August 2023: Bad Idea Right? but with more promo. She literally put it out and left it out to die-

September 2023 (week of album release): All American ***** releasd as third single. Would've performed much better than Get Him Back!

January 2024: Teenage Dream released as fourth and final single.

I don't really care about the deluxe tbh. The standard version is vastly superior.

I don't think So American was around then.  It's about her boyfriend Louis Partridge and I don't think they were an item yet. :coffee2:

First All american *****. The hype alone would have made it a hit. And it is one of the ones that keep going viral on tiktok.

Second Vampire with the album.
At this point you just let the GP choose the single

But imo....

Third Pretty isn't pretty

Fuorth Bad idea right?

That's why it's a hypothetical perfect rollout in a perfect world.

May/June 2023: Get Him Back!

September 2023: Vampire with album release

February 2024: Love Is Embrassing (duet version with someone with a Grammy performance)

May/June 2024: Obssessed with deluxe version release

Lead single: bad idea, right?

Second single: love is embarrassing

third single: vampire/teenage dream/making the bed/the grudge

fourth (deluxe) single: so american

Olivia's team basically went on an eternal vacation after Vampire so no roll out would have done better with a team like that. But still, I'd like Get Him Back to have been the lead.

I have no idea why all-american b!@tch was not pushed as singles as the song was getting viral on TikTok and sonically it have the folk elements that would work decently with the popularity of country and acoustic music scene currently in the US

Vampire has shown to have been the right lead single choice
swtich the second single for All American *****

Third single: Love Is Embarrassing
Fourth single: end the era with a ballad that girls love from her either Making The Bed or The Grudge

i don't think a different rollout would've made much difference. to me, on paper, get him back sounds like the most undeniable bulletproof hit with obvious tiktok virality baked in and the fact that it wasn't makes me think nothing else on the album would've connected better.

Bad Idea Right deserved Vampire's success, but I agree that I think the rollout was likely the right choice even if it wasn't massively successful.

For my own personal rollout I'd do:

1st single: Bad Idea Right so it becomes a bigger hit, I think it gets additional acclaim too which would help her in the long run.

2nd single: Vampire, I don't like it but having a half-ballad somewhere in here is the right choice. Space it out further from BIR (like RIGHT when the album comes out)

3rd single: All Amercian B-word cuz I love the song, and giving it a touch of success a la Brutal would be nice

4th single: Obsessed, alongside deluxe, I think if she went harder at promoting & pushing this it could have been a BIT more successful
