Quote

The term Übermensch was used frequently by Hitler and the Nazi regime to describe their idea of a biologically superior Aryan or Germanic master race; a racial version of Nietzsche's Übermensch became a philosophical foundation for Nazi ideas.

Notice how the text you quoted literally acknowledges that it was a corruption of Nietzsche's ideas. The idea of an übermensch is diametrically opposed to racism since the whole point is to rise above limitations placed upon you by society, of which oppressive/discriminatory systems are the most obvious example.

GD is using it to allude to his survival of police brutality, the Michael Jackson level scrutiny he's faced from the public, but still creating the global kpop craze all by himself and having unprecedented career longevity. The lyrics of Power were the thesis statement for übermensch, it's all in that song. Nietzsche is NOT some obscure philosopher whose work is only known in reference to Hitler's stealing of a single phrase but taking it to mean the opposite. You should take some of the time you spend downvoting posts on ATRL to open a book if that is your only point of reference for high school level philosophy.

This is a man that was detained for days and had every inch of his body sampled and tested for drugs several times over baseless accusations from a random member of the public who said he looked strange leaving a bathroom, all because a corrupt police force wanted to exert power over celebrities. The other victim of that initiative took his own life. G-Dragon instead of becoming bitter and withdrawing made a triumphant return and donated millions of his own fortune to starting a charity to aid and rehabilitate drugs addicts once the dust settled, doing the good the government is supposed to be doing but won't. He truly IS living breathing übermensch.

GD was the first Korean celebrity to speak out in support of BLM as well as in support of of the LGBT community after the Pulse disaster. Don't you dare ever try to put him on the level of a Nazi ever again when he has been nothing but a desperately needed voice for positive change in one of the most conservative countries in the world. Your fav has half the influence on her home country that GD does and has hardly lifted a damn finger in her whole life to cause societal change except for the most embarrassing example of rainbow capitalism of all time. Even GDs music is extremely political.

I'm ngl I was kinda taken aback when I first saw the title of this album since I've never followed GD that much so thanks a lot for explaining it so well in so much detail. Really puts things into perspective after all the public scrutiny he's gone through recently. Power was a bop so I'm excited to see where he takes this album after such a long hiatus.

OT: Taylena stays setting up aespa so bad on this website. First Charli, now GD. Girl just give it up before aespa keep getting whacked.

I'm sorry, as a German that title is disgusting as hell. It's just as bad as Untermensch which was coined by the Nazis.
