Kesha - Praying Appreciation Thread

Featured Replies

I haven't heard this song in a long time but it came on shuffle a minute ago and I forgot how chilling and beautiful of a song it is. The lyrics are so cathartic and as a victim of rape/SA just like Kesha, they always hit really hard for me. I remember when this first came out I was so shocked at how it was such a comical departure from her biggest hits but I'm happy to know that this song was met with praise and has been cemented as a classic in her discography.

The fact the Grammys invited her to perform and snubbed her for Ed Sheeran is still annoying asf to think about

And then nominated her rapist years later showcasing that their support was performative.

The fact that he was also the only person in the category who didn't attend and they still televised it on TV :skull:

Praying has stood the rest of time. Easily one of the best songs of the 2010s

it really is true what they say about trauma being the driving force of having the most creative outputs in music.

A true and undeniable masterpiece that deserved that Grammy :chick3:

It's the kind of rare and powerful song that transcends generations and touches millions. So so proud of her for making it but heartbroken that it had to made to begin with, but that's the power of the indomitable human spirit :clap3:

Rainbow deserved Best Pop Album so badly

The fact it outranked "Chained to the Rhythm" on the 2017 year end charts is insane despite peaking at #22

Longevity and talent won

One of the best songs of the 2010s without a doubt. Kesha outperformed herself there.
