Deeper Well is aging incredibly well!

Featured Replies

I loved Deeper Well upon first listen and it was definitely my most listened to album for the first part of the year. And then naturally I took a break from it, especially in this year packed of releases.

And yet in a year with so much to offer, I find myself coming back to it now that autumn's moving in. The album is holding up so well, and such a return to form for Kacey. It so beautifully captures the bittersweet feeling she's known for.

So many standout tracks: Cardinal, Too Good To Be True, Moving Out, Giver/Taker, Dinner With Friends and The Architect are all nothing short of spectacular.

It was met with rather lukewarm reactions when it came out but I really think people will start to appreciate it more.

It remains the best release of the year still in my opinion.

Amen! 😭 She really did THAT.

The deluxe edition adds even more to this beautiful collection.

i'd hope so considering she strictly used two strings and an acoustic guitar for the entire album

No hate, but can "aging well" even be used to describe an album that's only 6 months old?

It's still very much a new album, and the popular sounds of March 2024 are the popular sounds of September 2024.

I don't think anyone would think "this is aging badly" about something so recent, if that makes sense haha

There's definitely albums that I'm excited about for a week or two and then never feel the need to touch again. And then there's albums I keep falling in love with time after time.

Personally I feel Deeper Well will fall into the latter.

A return to form for Ms Musgraves. It's a no skip album for me, and it hits even harder now the seasons have changed.

I agree! But also, if deeper well was a baby conceived in the womb she'd be developing "blood cells, taste buds, eyebrows and eyelashes." at this point. She's grown so much!!!!!
