Sure, it did help, but it did not launch Sabrina's mainstream career. Had she debuted Espresso at the Eras Tour and had gone viral, then you would have a point 

of course not for everything, cuz she's been working very hard for the last decade, but i gotta say her momentum started going strong when she started doing the eras tour. it's nothing new that taylor boosts artists she hangs out/collabs with like post malone or lana who became a streaming monster also because tons of swifties became lana fans and taylor's peak of the last few years is the most insane and global event of all time (especially thanks to internet, media, streaming, but still - it happened).

 

sabrina having the chance to sing her EICS material on the tour was everything. even for me that album felt like a rebirth of sabrina carpenter and the 1st moment i truly felt that this girl really found her sound. the lyrics, the concept, the production, the vocals, everything for the first time was on point and didn't feel cheap or that they tried to make her a next ariana or something. i know last.fm isn't something huge, but last year i noticed her in the top streaming artists and she only released the xmas ep and i felt, omg, she's been there at the top with taylor, bts, and other very popular acts and at that time she mostly had just nonsense? that was huge.

 

and then feather also exploding and the stars were aligning.  you could tell that the gp has been hungry for some freshy breezy dance pop hits with funny/corny lyrics and she really did that, as well as really cute and fun videos. and now espresso boosted her popularity, and she released a song with J.A. that sounds like some song from the last taylor albums (i still hate the synth he used on it, cuz it sounds the same on every song he tries to give the "poppy" feel, yikes) while her audience is mostly swifties at this point and it was an EXCELLENT choice. she didn't need another espresso dance-y, smash-y moment, but that a bit chiller J.A. song really was the best choice they could come up with now to pander to the swifties who are ruling the streaming charts. i feel like the 3rd single could be the smashy poppy feel of espresso and feather cuz this is the sound the GP loves from her, and then the sns era really would be very very HUGE.

Opening for Taylor helped a lot, at least in Latin America, I saw a lot of tweets from people praising her performance and interested in knowing who she was and her music. 

Autoplay was also a big factor in her boom and that's not a bad thing.   The first time I heard Nonsense was for Spotify's autoplay and I like the song, same with Feather.
