It was the long break that messed her up.

Straying away from pop.. she should have went all out with a pop album w/ Motivation as the lead and a second pop meets r&b album w/ Wild Side to solidify herself as a mainstream artist first. Like she needed to fulfill the lane that is WIDE OPEN for a black main pop girl, then explore more vibey, midtempo "experimental" r&b later in her career when she is established. we knew this girl from FIFTH HARMONY for god sakes.. give us the bops we all wanted

REAL r&b girls are doing what she so desperately wants to do effortlessly... SZA, Muni Long, Tinashe, Summer Walker, Victoria Monet.. like its competitive enough and she doesn't have the vocal or artistic ability yet to measure up to those girls. she would have done well in pop

even Janet (her idol) released many pop albums before she went R&B 

Another Wednesday, another "<Artpop/Witness/Accelerate/Normani> what went wrong?" post on ATRL.

There are probably more people in 2024 that could name a non-Nicole member of the Pussycat Dolls than there are people who could name any member of 5H. Nicole Scherzinger couldn't really do it solo so.... why did anyone think Nobodi could?

But she was in the club, industry events and at red carpets regularly? 

She should've released another bop and her debut album after Motivation. Maybe it would've worked back then but now she lost her timing (plus I heard the music is boring, idk i haven't checked it out).
