Girls Aloud and The Saturdays are the most underrated girl groups, neither of whom were able to break out of the UK

 

Sugababes had a handful of European/Oceanian hits, they were popular

They were definitely popular with critics and the general public, they had hits and were really respected. They didn't really promote in America so they weren't that popular there 

They were Huge all around Europe

They had a management team who placed an ever increasing emphasis on making profit at the expense of the mental health of individual group members and eventually the wheels fell off the whole operation.

In what way are they underrated? They had huge success back when their music was good and they still have a cult following to this day despite all the messy drama

Are they? They're arguably the most successful girl group from the 2000's. Angels, Three, and Taller are some of the best selling girl group albums of all time in the UK and they have countless classics. 
 

If anyone is underrated it's Girls Aloud. 

They were big during their run tho

They were literally the biggest UK girl group in Europe, bigger than Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud, Little Mix.

they've existed in mainstream for a decade which is an extremely rare feat for a girl group with all shady drama behind the doors. 'the lost tapes' is underrated on the other hand
