Its such a bop from him in years I think if released by a MPB it would have been a hit

 

Austin Mahone is a peculiar case in the music industry. I genuinely believed he had all the potential to become a significant figure, or, at the very least, to be more popular than he is currently.

 

OT: I actually don't like the song, but I think it deserved more recognition.

That’s the thing. He was basically marketed as a Bieber clone without any distinctive characteristics.

I seen some live performances and he is a decent performer. Theres no reason why he couldn't have been at least a minor pop boy

That's true Shawn filled that void. Then all 5 members of 1D went solo and he had even more competition.

In this case it doesn't scream 'smash'. It sounds like 2015/16 radio fodder... and it was released in 2019 so it was a lost cause from the start
