Spotify: constant Updates Saga

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a theory why Spotify is constantly updating with new interface and few days later reverting back to previous settings?

It's happening all the time.

I actually really liked the last one where new music and options are in the left top corner. But today, it's back to previous ones. Whyyyy?

It's called A/B testing and is a basic marketing procedure.

And what does that mean?. I feel its rather recent as until few months ago they've been very consistent. Now there are constant changes

They test different interfaces and screens for different users to see which one results in better interactions and more time spent doing what they want you to (streaming music, browsing the app, tapping around).

Spotify doesn’t really make money so they throw everything at the wall to see what sticks to help turn a profit. Apple Music is a drop in the bucket for Apple, so the app never changes beyond their dynamic new content pages which you can easily avoid.

i think it's just AB testing and rollout schedule :deadbanana2:

Spotify is the low income housing of streaming

As opposed to Apple Music which comes built into the interface of your phone and still has less global users? :rip:

Insecurity and I can see why; the design sucks compared to Apple Music
