Tomorrow 2 certified 2x Platinum

Featured Replies

The fraudulence of all of this is just unreal. Sure, it was a hit…but let’s be real:

100M streams on Spotify

150M YouTube

Pitiful pure sales

That’s barely 1x platinum status, but we’re supposed to believe Apple Music alone took this to 3x platinum eligible (according to Bardigang?).

Yep, pretty much since Apple Music is a relevant platform

It's actually at 2.3M in Nielsen units. But supposedly just crossed 3M in RIAA since it was big on YouTube which is underweighted in Nielsen formula

Most of the streams are from Apple Music which are massive for urban hits in the US.

And the thread title says it's 2x Platinum

So were told it streamed 2 MILLION worth of units on Apple Music alone? Streaming really is destroying the validity of RIAA certifications.

Apple Music needs to start publishing their numbers for full transparency, because it just doesn’t add up.

It does add up:rip:

If 60% of Spotify & Youtube streams come from US(percentage likely higher), that's already 1M

BG posted that T2 has outsold SFG to become the top-selling female rap release of last year, so that must mean Apple Music is accounting for at least 1.5M units alone, since SFG is also 2X platinum. They need to start posting their numbers.

Super Freaky Girl has more Nielsen units, but not RIAA

Entirely due to Youtube weighing

The meltdown :deadbanana:

No meltdown. Apparently we can’t have a genuine conversation on this forum about streaming and inflated certifications without immaturity.

And we ALL know which was the bigger hit. If those RIAA certifications make you feel better, have at it :clap3:

Streams have ruined certifications but mass website downloads of song instrumentals is valid? :rip:

Nice for Glorilla and Cardi :clap3: It was pretty clear this would be a decent-sized urban hit in the vein of Money.

Nah but high key instrumentals shouldn’t count. It has nothing to do with the artist and everything to do with the producer. How do you as a rapper, get a plaque for a track you ain’t rap on?

I have said NOTHING on the topic at all other than posting the RIAA certification and leaving, you’re the one going on and on about AM streams and how the numbers need to be revealed based on what a Twitter fan page said…lol.

She's still scoring hits.. but when the hell  would she release new album? Lol

A bigger hit doesn't = more sales (no direction correlation). I don't know the breakdown of SFG but if radio played a role it could've skewed the sales output. Also, we don't know how local each artist is, assuming Nicki could be more global, Cardi's number would absolutely make sense (no shade to either Artist).

If you want to better understand, I would recommend looking at the breakdown by country for the stream of each song on Spotify and Youtube.
