Missy Elliot's discography appreciation thread

Featured Replies

One of the best discographies of the 90's-2000's. she has never had a hit or miss every release of hers is always innovative and quality.

She's an all-rounder; can sing, dance, rap, write, produce. IDKY she got the Vanguard award so damn late her videos are amazing and deserving.

Imagine having a multiplatinum rap album and multiple platinum albums :clap3:

Her consistency (with quality) is unmatched

Lemme go stream her magnum opus Gossip Folks

Under Construction had me in a chokehold in 7th grade and it still sounds fresh to this day. Her presence from the 90s to mid 00s is missed.

The run from Work It to  Lose Control is absolutely legendary

She's one of those people you can just play a random album track of and it will probably slap. A visionary :clap3:

And one of the few women to beat men for a rap Grammy! Which is an indictment of the Recording Academy. But at least she's undeniable.

She is GOD. Period.

Even if ...So Addictive to be released 2000 years later, it'll still sound futuristic.

Yup...Yuuuuuuuuuup.

Mother Melissa LET the girls live by not releasing I'm talkin and Best Friend f/ Aaliyah.

Whew. THe way Best Friend (as well as Brandy's version) pop in my head randomly. Just a chill feel good song. I wanted visuals.

Probably still my favorite of her albums.

Her music is so timeless. Supa Dupa Fly and Miss E... would smash NOW!
