Life for Rent by Dido is the fastest selling album by a woman recording artist, passing five million sales mark in just two weeks.

x

It sold 400,351 in the first week in UK and less than 200,000 in US.

I would say Thriller more than 100M (pure) sales are a kind of myth or a symbol?.

All chart analysis experts are saying it should be at like 60-70 M. Still the most selling but not more than 100.

I think that might be shipments (aka the record label shipping 5 million copies of the album worldwide in 2 weeks, which is quite believable), still it didn't actually sell 5 million in 2 weeks :deadbanana2:

omg I forgot that happened :deadbanana2:

Apparently Carole King's Music sold 1.3 million copies in the US on the first day of its release, but that predated SoundScan by 20 years and the current RIAA album certification system by 5 years, so there is no proof of that.

Paper Magazine claimed Fergie's The Dutchess sold over 12 million copies as of 2019. Certifications add up to 7 million, so idk where they got that number from.

Would love to know their source because alongside the singles that adds up to almost 30 million records sold for just that album. :clap3:

On a similar note, a touring venue OneRepublic performed at in 2017 claimed their 2013 album Native had sold over 5 million sales globally. That seems completely unrealistic considering the album 'only' sold 1.1 million copies in the US, the band's biggest market, and generally had mediocre runs outside that (only reaching the top ten in a handful of countries globally). How would that outsell albums like Katy Perry's Prism which finished as the sixth-best selling album of 2013 globally but hasn't reached 4.5 million sales yet?

I feel like people supported 6ix9ine for the same reason they support Andrew Tate. They would've probably kept supporting him had he not continued to be an absolute knucklehead in public too.

Monsters used to pretend Poker Face was the most watched video ever on Youtube back then :dies:

I just read on Twitter that Single Ladies MV was deleted with 900M views :rip:

A correction, it was certified 8xP in 2019 within one year after its official release despite the song tanking in Spotify and Apple Music, where the hell those stats come from to begin with
