Does Janet's debut mixtape deserve more love?

Featured Replies

Janet's debut mixtape Janet Jackson features one of my personal favorite 80s pop tracks ever, "Come Give Your Love to Me".

Does Janet's 1982 release deserve her flowers or should she remain forgotten? :celestial5:

This is not a mixtape and no, it doesn't deserve love or recognition. I only validate Janet's artistry starting with Control.

It’s actually a decent record, yeah! But I don’t think Janet really considers it part of her canon of music. It’s better than 40 Y.O.

Yes! It's very cute bubblegum Disco/R&B. Most of the songs are good.

Nightmare on Elm Steet on the other hand... :-x

Come Give Your Love to Me is the official b-side to When I Think of You in the UK so the first mixtape has been recognized.
