She's not as consistent as them in terms of success but every once in a while she flares up and peaks so hard that she ends up being a formidable contender.

 

Now don't get me wrong she is not on their level but why does she keep showing up in all these records held by taylor and adele instead of more established and consistent artists like beyonce and gaga?

I get the feeling Tay and Adele have a lot more records outside of streams for two singles

there is quite a lot of buzz around the song and people seem to like it, it's kinda that simple

They're the new trinity me thinks.

She just has two massive songs that broke records, while the other two have many.

That's two singles 

Miley literally had 3 hits in the last 13 years. Let her break those records in peace, she deserves it. 

the right song, the right time, the right promo + she has a lot of good will and public interest right now.

she's definitely not a consistent force in commercial success like the other two tho but if she takes this momentum and not fucks things up with something horrible like Dead Petz, she will be like this generation's P!nk

All the record you posted are about songs when what differentiates Taylor (and Adele too although with the 30 era maybe that came to an end) from most of artists is her(their) ALBUM performance

Yeah Taylor has great singles stats but that's now what she is known for

She's finally getting her long deserved flowers 

She is still one of the biggest artists in the world, just not inside the top10 of the past 10-15 years. That means in her long career she can have success higher than the top tier artists in some departments.

 

That is comparable with Messi and Ronaldo holding so many records in soccer. However some records still belong to more random soccer dudes. Because R and M are complete package in all departments, but they are not the peak holder in everything.

Are you asking why Adele and Taylor have so many records and are the standard to beat?

Thank you for adding substance to the discussion and not just leaving troll comments. I will say I somewhat agree with the both of you but I think she was never pushed or was utilized as the top artist at RCA like Taylor and Adele are with their labels. I think she has proper backing now with Columbia ever since leaving RCA and they see her as a top artist in their roster I am satisfied with their rollout of 'Flowers' so far and the release date that they set for her upcoming album.

She is right behind Justin Bieber I think she will surpass him in this era.

This thread is so easy to understand, why do people pretend to be dumb for no reason? Also, both Adele and Taylor have very few record breaking songs - nobody is expected to have that many in general. So Miley having 2-4 is more than the average.

 

Anyways, Miley has always been more special than most artists due to her wildcard music output. Even when she flops, people still know her name and will check for her when she gets it together.

 

Her career is far more impressive than Adele/Taylor that play on catering to the public as strictly as possible to maximize sales. They’d never recover (or any artist for that matter) the way Miley has after a decade of what her career went through and it’s why she’s the sole one deserving and matching these records.
