ATRL undermines SZA's global-ness. Why?

Featured Replies

I've seen a lot of people refer to her as a local act even with SOS' release.

Meanwhile..Kill Bill went #1 in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand and top 10 in 11 other countries.

SOS went top 5 in 12 countries. And Kill Bill is still top 10 in 28 countries on Spotify being top 5 in 15 of them. Oh SOS has been the #1 album on Spotify for weeks now

Is ATRL shocked that a new generation black woman reached these heights? :siptea:

Basically this. Most of ATRL users aren't ready to admit SZA did that and is still killing it because of bitterness and charts placements obsession.

And is out of the top 50 of Spotify on every Latin country :giraffe:

that’s why the YouTube numbers are a mess too:sorry:

that's why she's only touring in the US, and I can see her doing festivals in the rest of the world.:sorry:

They have never played ha in the Louvre I fear. It’s apparently the global threshold. :cm:

The 400M people in Latin America> the other 7.6B people in the world now

OT: I don't know. Kill Bill is INSANELY global yet they will call it local :deadbanana4:

And that’s completely fine seeing as most songs besides the occasional 2 or 3 in Latin countries top 50 charts are Latin. Doesn’t mean she’s not global!

Let's be real here
Almost no Anglo artists crack the top 50 in latin america
I think only Taylor, Harry, Dua and now Miley

And it's even more inpressive that fact she makes R&B music! :clap3:

Here in my country, I've only heard them play The Grass Is Greener on the Other Side song from SZA on the radio but not anything from SOS which pisses me off, not even Good Days, god forbid European radio plays something that's not vanilla filler dance music

This. I have seen people in this forum disputing Whitney’s globalness here :rip:

she fell in category which is equivalent to those local latin artists. most casual stream her out of curious because it is hit in local usa and most of the time they go back to comfort zone their own language vanila pop/hiphop/rock after that without dive in bio info over them.

it's always like that, she is brand new artist to the rest of the world and need more hits in global chart to continue relevancy like karol g, blackpink, or even capital bra

Because she’s black. Some members in here can’t even cope with Beyoncé being global, let alone SZA.

Yeah Kill Bill is a true GLOBAL hit. Unlike songs like Made You Look that ATRL will claim is a global smash when those are its peaks:

#153 France

#26 Germany

#59 Italy

#13 Netherlands

#22 South Africa

#75 South Korea

#91 Spain

#21 Sweden

#12 US

:rip:

Compare them to KB‘s peaks and the winner is clear. Yet there are still people who claim the song is local. Racism at its finest.
