A perfect album to smoke a joint and take a bath to. A perfect album for late-night drives both in the city or wilderness. A perfect album to self-reflect and do some therapy to. A perfect album to put on with friends and vibe to. A perfect album to skinny-dip with your loved one. A perfect album to lay in the dark and feel nothing and everything to. A perfect album to take a long walk as cars glide by. A perfect album for both the sunrise and the sunset. A perfect album. 
 

Not everybody is gonna connect with this right away. But dive deep and let the currents of each song sway you where ever they please

I believe it was covid, she even planned to drop an EP in ~early 2021 of TMA outtakes to hold us through the wait I guess, but that idea also got scrapped

she was so ahead of time for this... even now nothing else sounds like the record...

 

i thought they were still working on the songs well into last year though?

They spent last year mixing and making the record continuous + shooting visuals etc, but the recording was done by 2021

Wow, done since early 2021? That's wild. Props to her for knowing exactly what her vision is and not deviating from it, though. 

 

It's a complex, moody album. I have no doubt that it'll take a few listens at the very least to start sinking in. I feel like it was misadvertised as a dance album by her, though. It's definitely more of an ambient "vibe" album with some underground dance/techno elements mixed in. 

 

100% an album to zone out and reflect to. That review that described it as a "melancholy late-night drive through a buzzing city" was spot on. Very much nighttime, city by the water vibes.

Yass, nothing worth replacing anything on TME really, but still worth putting out (especially Bok Bok tracks). Maybe the next pandemic will get us there 

I can’t wait to listen to this fully tomorrow. TMA is one of the greatest albums EVER so if this is half as good
