Bruno Mars released ''When I Was Your Man'' as the official second single from 'Unorthodox Jukebox' on January 15, 2013.

It became his second consecutive #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 during that era (1st being ''Locked Out Of Heaven'') and his 5th overall #1 at the time.

WIWYM ranked at #8 on the 2013 Year End Chart of the Billboard Hot 100

Globally, it was also a success. It hit the top 10 in the official charts of countries such as Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, Norway, UK, Scotland, etc...

it was the 8th best selling song of 2013 worldwide with 8.3M copies sold.

Always hated this song.

Never knew it was that huge, I always thought it was some annoying payola'd song that's overplayed on the radio

Now we have Flowers as a result of its impact

The nostalgia! Great song.

Yup, the nostalgia is strong w/ that one !

Even upon its release, the song already felt nostalgic imo. It doesn't fit the 2012-2013 musical landscape at all.  Something about his vocals and the instrumental make it sound like a 70s ballad  sung by Donny Hathaway. If only Bruno would've existed during the MoTown era. Maybe he would've been famous and peers with Stevie Wonder, Edwin Star, Marvin Gaye, James Brown (one his biggest inspirations) and many more

^ Ummmm.

Anyways, not every single song needs to be celebrated. I'm sure there are Facebook Mom groups who are talking about this song, but they're also talking about Payphone. Let's try to get 2012 vomit out of our memories instead of reminders.

Amazing <3

Can I post a cover of it in here?

it is Bruno's most streamed song on Spotify and one of my favorites by him.
