I'm pretty unaware of all of the workings of their contracts, but why does it take so long for members of a group like BLACKPINK to release one or two solo songs? It took from 2018 to 2023 for all of the members to release their own songs, which seems like a ridiculously long amount of time 

They gained over 1M monthly listeners in the past week thanks to Hold On Tight  They can definitely reach 7M or maybe even 8M before the comeback

Yg is known for treating their female idols poorly. There's always been a disparity in what they can do vs the male idols. Big part of blackpink's success and longevity is the members own charisma. 

 

And we also don't know if the members want more solo releases. Do they have the time, interest, motivation?? 

 

 

But some yg stans will tell you it's cause yg only releases the highest quality material hence the wait time
