Well, BTS was dragged for god knows how many pages back then for their "desperate tactics" which is becoming an industry standard now. And BTS's female fans, who were not even on ATRL, were dragged and ridiculed by the whole website because they happened to spend money on bulk-purchase. 

 

And with fanbases (plural) now jumping up and down to defend their faves' tactics, does BTS deserve an apology? 

No. Dynamite and My Universe are their only GP hits, Butter spending weeks on #1 was a joke. The other #1s were even more of a joke.

If an artist has a #2 song and ur fanbase organize themselves to give u a #1 that's fine

when ur song is basically uknown by the GP (not talking about my universe and dynamite, but the others yep) and u make it a #1 is a joke and deserved the bashings back then.

Nope, I believe TOTC exposed that it was like only 1000+ people bought hundred thousands copies of their single to inflate it. 

No. BTS has spent a total of 1 day atop the global spotify chart, never topped the US one and struggled to chart on US Apple Music. You're just bitter everything you said about Taylor these past few years backfired horribly

The following weeks yes, but Butter was literally #2/3 on streaming the first week. They gained 32M streams which is more or less the same as Taylor & Rihanna the previous week

Their fans mass purchasing 10 remixes of the same song with money sent to them from non-US fans is NOT the same thing. That's literally the definition of fraud.

OT: Absolutely not. I assume this thread is alluding to Taylor (she really has the girls pressed since Midnights release ), but Anti-Hero and Butter aren't even comparable at all. First of all, Anti-Hero is serving a stability on both the radio and the streams. On the other hand, Butter had been forced down the radio listeners' throats, until the embarrassingly bad callouts finally killed it (a clear case of label payola), and it went down in streams really quickly as well.

 

Now, about the sales... Butter had multiple remixes and versions, each of them discounted and available to buy up to four times every week on their website. Their fanbase had literal funds for doing so, which included money from overseas, just so they could manipulate the charts as long as possible.

 

Meanwhile, Taylor has released this week only two versions, both at the full price of $1.29, and since the chart rules has changed, you can buy only one copy of them only once. She also has the original version ($1.29, full price too), and the instrumental version (the only one discounted to $0.69), but both of them were available before this week (which means that every next sale from the customer who has bought it earlier, won't count for any other weeks). She doesn't have funds from overseas or mass buying parties (from what I know at least), and yet despite that she's still predicted to sell over 80k, which is truly insane and confirms that she has the organic DEMAND and actually big dedicated fanbase (unlike 1k or 2k fans of BTS buying the same versions of a song over and over)

 

In other words, Taylor is the organic queen, while BTS remain FRAUDS. They don't deserve any apologies.

 

BTS doesn't control what their fans did, but they were dragged for "enabling fans to do so".

 

While i have seen defence coming from Rihanna, Taylor and Nicki's stans saying "it's their label's doing", "they have the rights to do so" etc. Butters had 4 remixes, and according to ATRL, it's a normal number. Pure hypocrisy

No. Butter was #1 for 10 weeks and it wasn't a hit on any metric apart from mass buying digital downloads that eventually caused billboard to change the rules. If anything them and billboard should apologise to Olivia for blocking a legit hit

No, they are absolutely fraud. 2K fans buying almost 90K copies to make that trash butter song be #1 for 10 weeks?!?! That thing never happened before, they abused the chart to it fullest.
