If Lacey accepts the gays now I am back on board. :gaycat2:

I posted a link a few days earlier where Lacey talks about LGBTQ people.

It's at ~14:25

Can't wait for this reunion. Flyleaf means a lot to me and I can't believe that this is real.

I hope it's more than a few shows. I need a new album and music video.

This still feels homophobic as hell imo.

I wasn't convinced as well, to be honest but I really want to believe her. I love their/her music and want to keep liking it.

But sometimes it's hard. I mean has anybody ever read the lyrics to "The Kind"?

They have (or had, I don't know) VERY controversial views.

Just an addition to the lgbtq talk in here (or the other thread):

a fan on facebook wrote "come out pro gay and i'll support" and Sameer answered: "it's out. We support the community, acknowledge the wrongful negative stigma that has been attached to it and love each individual as they are".

And (i think) Jared wrote on instagram, that they will come together for "a few shows". I don't think we'll get new music. :(

I think it’s awesome (and not in a “ignore the problematicness way”) how you want to see their current truth while all of us are hesitant as hell cause of religious stereotypes. You with your posts have made me listen to them again for the first time in years after you posted the other members are lgbt friendly, and even if Lacey’s video was…questionable lol, it shows me that there is at least some growth from her too since I’ve always been aware she was the most hard core religious one in the group.

also I’m screaming reading these interpretations of “ The Kind”. Young me.always assumed it was about masturbating and how it was a sin :lmao:  And I took that meaning and never investigated it further lmaooo

Maybe I’ll feel less icky and self hating now listening to them and tbh I have you to thank, so thanks for slowly (with apprehension) bringing one of my favorite bands slowly back into my rotation

Oop, well even if Lacey is slowly coming to terms with modern reality, I love how the guys are all being vocal. I feel like Lacey should make a non vague clear statement about her support (if she does) because let’s be honest, the gays loveeeed them as kids and now that we are older we are rightfully hesitant.

I found this on songmeanings.com lol

I quote:

Actually. This song is about money. Its explained in the cd. "She" is money. On the cd thing it says "people fall madly in love with money and rob their minds to serve her" Lacey also says in the song something like "you cant serve God and money, you have to choose one or the other."
