Featured Replies

taking way too long to release stuff after 3 successful albums.

e.g. Avril, Katy, Xtina, Nelly, Adele

Everything Katy perry has done after her SB performance/ sans NRO

THIS

Gaga releasing Stupid Love, Taylor releasing Me!, Katy releasing Small Talk. All three of those songs were completely detrimental to any career momentum or showcasing creative growth, nor were they good in a mindless fun bop kind of way. Just pure processed cheese. :rip: (also all three parent albums to those singles were much better than the aforementioned singles representing them)

Solar Power.

I love a few songs on there like Fallen Fruit, I didn't think the album was that bad, but I understand why it turned off her critics and fans. She had moved on from being relatable to trying to do satire and singing about her rich problems because that probably is her life's troubles now. It would have been cooler if she'd leaned into psychedelia or something ("Come on and let the bliss begin/Blink three times when you feel it kicking in" is like the high point of Solar Power the song for me). Also The Path is sublime & good at times, like the absurd, yet dreamy visual of supermodels dancing around a pharoh's tomb at the met gala, and I feel she could have done more as a critique, or commentary to this sort of life (other than the usual "it's awful to be famous & have paparazzi bothering you").
