She made a great acoustic R&B record with two commercially friendly singles, altar and up at night(featuring Justin Bieber). Yet, this album was her lowest peaking in the US, at #13. The singles didn’t make any noise either. What went wrong?

I think judging by the views her core fanbase (im included) isnt interested in her more positive approach, light hearted spirit, motherhood and maturity

 

her previous work was reflection of immaturity and toxic relationships

 

I say good riddance

 

her last album is her best album

No hits & no anticipation for it

I agree but it was the most trendy in sound/production at the time. Fans of 2015-2020 Lani probably don’t relate to the vibe of this album tbh.

SSS is her only good album. IWEUIW is a snoozefest and the singles she released for BWW were so boring I didn’t bother to check out the album.

true, I guess if the girls just want trendy/not great songs, SSS scratches that itch.

 

It's still bad though. I've revisited it recently and phew it does NOT hold up.

WWW is her best project. Overall I just think she needs better production because the snooze fest she doing right now is not it

Her 2020 album IWGUIW sold over 80k first week, her best sales of her career. What changed in two years? 

No promo/no one knew it was coming, I think she’s an artist that needs a little bit more time to prep people as I feel like she has a lot of casual listeners
