People really think they're doing something by saying "But...but... OpEnInG aCt". 

 

Picture from her headlining solo Tour. She's fully capable of touring by herself, she probably agreed to the MGK tour because they're friends, they've collaborated, and she probably got a fat paycheck. The 'opening act' rhetoric is factually incorrect, especially when you consider Avril has a better tour presence than some of her peers.

Alanis, she's sold more ALBUMS, she's an AOTY winner. Jagged Little Pill is a LEGENDARY album.

 

Avril is just a washed up Grammyless artist like the other flop has been from her times: Mandy Moore, Britney Spears,...

Avril Lavigne, but it's close. Avril has better and bigger albums. Alanis had THE era (Jagged Little Pill).

Hm, i take issue with both of these statements. 

Yes, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie was a HUGE decline from Jagged Little Pill...it still managed to sell over 5 million albums worldwide i think? And Under Rug Swept like 3-4 million i think? 

And i really enjoy Love Sux, but there isn't really much evidence that it is some sort of commercial resurgence for Avril? I think there is an Avril resurgence culturally because of the resurgence of pop-punk, and just the cyclical nature of these kinds of things, and she is an icon...but it hasn't really translated commercially.

That being said...i'd say they are very very very close, and depends how you define "bigger'. I think commercially, Alanis has been the bigger artist. I thin culturally, Avril has made a bigger impact on her generation.

and MGK is very big atm bigger then avril, so why wouldn't she open for him? they both are iconic artists.. im sick of this hate!
