Have you listened to idntt?

I love all my popgirls but if we talk about the one i find the most stereotypical white. thats this beauty:
the fact of how she just tasted burritos when she was older speaks a lot about her disconnection with outside influences
her hobbies, boyfriend, friends and so many things.
taylor-swift-03.jpg?w=1000

now the most stereotypical latina.
Yes is not shakira. Cause i love shaki deeply (my main fave) but shaki has always been very exotic and more like a world citizen latina and kinda strange
i feel like shakira sometimes. im definitely a latino in love with my culture but i feel like an outsider sometimes too
karol g is so typical latina de barrio. This is one of the reasons why she connected so well with latinoamerica

Shakira is a fascinating woman. She's so cultured and you can tell how much she values knowledge and the power it holds. That's why I'm a bit mad when her music feels predictable or even trivial, because I'm so sure her inner world is very rich.

New songs are being released every day by the people I listen to. Is this 2010 all over again or is my end near? :cm:

not even gonna bother listening to that zara larsson album, the snippets are all horrible

Here in Latinoamerica people not only love her but were always impressed with her smartness even when she was just like 18-19 years old
and lemme tell you. Her first records the way she rhymed those words. Magical. I dont know how she did that. she turned simple words into something so rich and poetic
Not one in latinoamerica has been able to write in such a beautiful way.......
PD-Dell are sprinkled with magic. Not even rosalia is able to match that. I hate comparisons but thats it.
Rosalia is insanelly good and excelsior but her lyrics are honestly weak compared to Early Shakira.
I listened both of her records and i give them 9.5 or 10 but i was not impressed with her lyricism....
but rosalia is definitely miles away from bad  bunny as lyricist
she's also a crazily good visual artist better than shakira in her early years

Shakira definitely has a very high I.Q. above the average.
Here in Colombia so many love her deeply but also so many people were always like........she's definitely not one of us. she's a gringa lmfao
she's honestly very odd and a strange type of artist. :giraffe:
but this was probably the key to connect so easily with people from all cultural backgrounds worlwide before streaming and social media.
When youre too niche is definitely harder to connect with all the world

Yes im really angry too. She's boxing herself in the latino cliche urban pop artist.
Is working for her commercially wise but it can be so boring :gaycat6: i really miss when she was far more experimental. i miss her english music specially
i think shakira is afraid of falling apart commercially wise and bad bunny-karol g winning over her. All the old artists. They all want love and to be remembred
shakira knows releasing generic urban reggaeton bops is the only way for her career to survive
Something tells me she will retire in the next decade cause doin uptempo music will not work in her 60s
i blame latinoamerica :giraffe: cause all my fellow latinos cant move from reggaeton.
Americans had already like 20 dominant genres in the 2000-2010s-2020s
here in latinoamerica reggaeton been rumbling for 3 decades now :gaycat6: and not signs of the genre stopping

updated my spooky ghost playlist before Halloween! any other ghosts im missing?

gagged is a big word but for her standards it's certainly great

I really appreciate your insight as a Colombian. :heart2:

I'm Spanish but I feel the same way about her early work. For instance, when she sings Antología, every single arena and stadium around the world sings along in a way I've NEVER seen with other artists. I don't know why she seems adamant in keeping the trendy sounds instead of going for TIMELESS, because that's what her early stuff is. She doesn't have to do the Alanis-esque Rock again but I would appreciate some interesting lyricism and that depth in feeling, also some quirky/nerdy cultural references that she used to go for. Maybe even some... political commentary about the state of the world.

Her interviews are more interesting than some of her songs these days...

Something about that kind of polished sound, especially when it comes out of nowhere, just ticks me off, so I unfortunately will be listening to the album to see if it clicks, though I also expect it to be all over the place, which would be par for the course.

there's one song where she cosplays caroline polachek and then you have another one which alexandra stan would kill for

she cannot make a good album and that's fine.

now something isn't right here! HOW IS SPOTIFY STILL ALLOWING HIM TO UPLOAD NEW MUSIC

Pies Descaloz is great. I cohosted ATRL tabs game where Shakira won. I hate that the music she's releasing now is not giving

It's mostly rnb. Definitely not like Mayhem and not totally 80s. I'm loving Ahhh Men, Silly Fun and Lipstain

Going through Mariah's discography in celebration of Here for It All and found myself liking E=MC² a lot more than Emancipation and some of her other albums. But still Rainbow, Charmbracelet and Daydream have my Top 3 on lock. :gayriahcat1:🌻:gayriahcat2:

Wait which song are we talking about :suburban:

If it's the Zara one, I just went and listened to some of it for the first time and I... don't get it

Just listened to it in full and... She's no Sarah Vaughan. I'll say that
