who knows, but the fact he said that when he knows i've been hurt about that comment for weeks now.  but it was only a personal sorry. there is probably still a lot of other kpop stans out there that were shocked by that comment. 

 

I did message him the other day about not all kpop fans are toxic  and he mention it was just supposed to be a silly comment

I'm not here for cancel culture or whatever, but just like the Melanie Martinez situation, they'll have to come to terms with the fact they stan someone that's very weird and not in a very good way.

 

She was targeted by someone but she's also very weird and her music (which I haven't listened) must be a pretty fair representation of that.

i think (some) fans just overcompensate with their support when people call her out tbh

most of her music really isnt very weird tbh. its more the lore behind some of it (im only familiar with her preachers daughter album) 

too bad u'll probs never listen to her now coz that album has some stellar tracks.

I mean, I'm open to try at some point. Although I think she's weird and there isn't much defending it, being a r*pe victim herself and a trans person, her life experiences must haven't been very ordinary. I can empathize with that at least.

I feel like the death of monoculture applies to indie music even more than to the mainstream one. Back in the day, everyone listened to the same indie artists, and it was much easier to connect to people based on that. These days, it's a lot more fragmented when it comes to new faces, and most of the veterans fell off.

I'm mainly a Pop/R&B gay, I like every era of these genres but the more Y2K reminiscent the better
 

I'm also into Latin/Spanish music but I'm ridiculously picky with it. Also Alternative (Caroline's Art Pop kinda sound) and some Alternative/Rock as well. I can be in the mood for Hyperpop as well but less frequently.

im basic a bit. im mainly into pop/hyperpop (whatever that even is these days). love caroline! so i guess art pop also. im not super adventurous with genres but every now and then someone (like ethel) pops up in a genre im not too interested and grabs my attention. im currently discovering utada and her music feels like a whole new type of pop for me

Loveeeee that for you. I was on cloud nine discovering Utada for the first time like, 7 years ago.

 

DEEP RIVER, Ultra Blue, Exodus, Hatsukoi and FANTÔME I really loved. I haven't been on Hikki mood in a while, but I was slayed by Naniirodemonai Hana (A Flower of No Color) last year. There's something so magical about their music.
