Sounds about right. First time I was in USA my luggage got shipped to Canada but I was still on standby. Never got to see Canada  just slept at new York airport overnight

This is pretty typical North America ground handling behaviour. The ramp crew has intense pressure to leave on time so they just put the standby bags on even if your not on. There are so no laws in either Canada or US that require bags to be removed from domestic flights. (International flights have different rules). 

 

Are you still going? Just pick up from the baggage office if not, ask them to send it back. 

 

The oddest baggage mistake I've seen is when a bag meant for Heathrow (LHR) ended up on a plane to Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR).

yes, i've been lowkey obsessed with her a bit since i watched it. the actress was phenomenal and her storyline really had an impact on me

Everytime I travel to the US I'm shocked at how utilitarian and non-consumer friendly the aviation industry is  even the airports are so poorly designed and difficult to navigate (actually I've found mainland Europe to be similar too). You guys need to take notes from the Asian and Middle-Eastern carriers!
