Well, I listened to her singles collection (BIBLE) and didn't like anything, plus she was involved in causing Akina's 'incident' in 1989 as she was spotted with her then-boyfriend (while being married and with a child, mind you), and Akina's career hasn't really recovered since then, though there were other factors at play, like choosing a label that considered her a nuisance or being seen with a drag queen.

Well, there isn't much information available in English, and Seiko pretty much denied everything, so Akina's actions were seen as irrational despite the fact that her boyfriend was a serial cheater. The bit about the drag queen is something I found on my own, and she spilled some tea on her YouTube last year (no, they weren't dating, and Akina was nice in person).
