BENI competed in the new season of Singer and she was eliminated first!

Is it jealousy? Too much of a threat? They weren't ready for her vocals?
They just did Beniyonce, Beni Dion, Beni Houston or Beni Daniels wrong.

She didn't make it as far as MISIA did in Season 8 but it appears that most viewers agree that BENI was eliminated too soon.

Oooh tough choice... the instrumental on I MISSED "THE SHOCK" is so cool, but I think I like TANGO NOIR the best overall.

All 3 are essential Akina to me, but if I had to pick it's I MISSED "THE SHOCK." Not only is it my personal favorite Akina single, but anyone who I've introduced her to has loved it on first listen. Love all three though, classics!

@Britneyfan09 has helped me figure out some things regarding the Showa rate, so I think it might be coming sooner. Maybe late June.

 

The artists included are:

Akina Nakamori

Seiko Matsuda

Kyoko Koizumi

Shizuka Kudo

Miho Nakayama

Chisato Moritaka

Momoko Kikuchi

 

6 indisputable best-selling idols of the era + Momoko for that city pop clout (she shares the 7th place with other idols, she wasn't exactly a flop)

 

The seven main entries will have 8 songs each, including their debuts, signature songs, at least one notable album track and a recent song. I'll try to make sure that the other 4 songs align with ATRL's taste because those debuts/signature songs will not necessarily be to this crowd's liking, but some of you also love a good ballad, so who knows... 

 

The extra section will include 4 songs by the following artists:

Yoko Oginome (Dancing Hero -Eat You Up-)

Minako Honda (Temptation)

Hiroko Yakushimaru (Tantei Monogatari)

Yuki Saito (Itsuka)

 

60 songs overall, might seem too much, but I believe the rate will give the participants a very good picture of what that era was like.

I think the rate may be up as soon as next Monday, most of the selections are ready. There will be some contention, I'm sure, but trust me, it's hard when you like most of these artists and think that the majority of their singles/discography are at least decent.
