I was hyped for Candy Paint, but when she released it on her birthday, it sounded more refined than the leaked version, and I wasn't vibing with it at first. It's grown on me a lot, though, and two years ago, I just knew it was a hit waiting to happen. With a music video, it could really shine. All Yours is so pretty and one of the biggest standouts on Dopamine. If she pushed this album, she could possibly have multiple hits—Big Boy, Still, All Yours, Lights On, Insomnia, Candy Paint, and even Take My Time could all have their moment. At this point, it feels like you're just looking for an argument, which I'm not going to entertain. I've already explained why I've vented in the past—that's my right. Even when I was frustrated, I've made an effort to stay respectful, which is more than I can say for you right now, but to each their own. I'm not going back and forth with you, but just know that you always have the option to leave if you're that bothered. If you take that as me pressuring you, that's on you. The fact is, you're not being respectful—you're just being nasty.

The fact is, you're not being respectful—you're just being nasty. You quote multiple times even after I asked you to stop, you ask me something multiple times so you will get answers. You wanted my attention, you will have it. If you read well (my English isn't perfect cause it's not my first language), you should already know why I stick around but you decided to ask your question to entertain the crowd. Ok I get it, your sensible self think me saying she is boring to stan or that era is atrocious, or that Fashion week pictures won't cover the state of the era or that she is making 0 effort to make this era fun is disrespectful. Ok sure, but you're proving my « disrespectful » points all the time. I'm sure no one had fun this all era, this was even painful to experience. We went from being very active to nothing nearly right after the release of the album because we had nothing to talk about since she does nothing or lies (but that's besides point), this is called BORING. So why do you have such hard time with me saying this ? i just think you're way too sensitive. i told you to stop mentioning me because I knew it was gonna end up like this. You started it so don't act like you aren't the one that wanted to start an argument with me and way before your dumb question . You were 👎🏾 my comments, liking comments that were contradicting my thoughts, mentioning me. You even deleted one because you felt ridiculous after I said I won't reply anymore.

I like it now and can see it for the bop that it is, but it's low on the ranks for me. It's different from anything out there tho. Hopefully it gains traction when the visual drops.

I still can't get enough of Dopamine. Such a good album. I'm obsessed with All Yours and it needs to go crazy viral and get 1 billion streams. 1:59 has grown so much on me, such a standout track and Candy Paint such a bopppp, needs to gain traction like motivation. Big Boy, Insomnia, Lights On also have good potential. Its strange but my least streamed and liked song on album is Still. 2

I like how the song pays homage to her roots, and the sample and production are great as well. It will probably grow on you over time.
justifymythreads Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I'm happy she at least released her album. However, with all these people releasing and constant music for others. I sort of forget about Mani. It's sad because I truly wish we could've gotten her at her height and seen her blossom as a performer and artist. Like I totally get her getting excited about her debut album but to me if she had played her cards right she would've been on her third album now with maybe a grammy under her belt. However, still looking forward to her new music whenever (or if ever) it comes out.

Digging up old comments I made doesn't change the fact that even when I was frustrated, I was still respectful toward Normani. I was being honest about how I felt, but I never disrespected her. There's definitely a way to voice how you feel without being rude, especially when she already gets enough of that. If you want to have a productive conversation, I'm here for that. But if you're just looking to go back and forth, this is the last time I'll respond.

NormaniQueen Posted January 13 Posted January 13 i truly think that the visuals could bring the dopamine era back to life, especially with candy paint and all yours (lights on, insomnia, and big boy too). also with the possible banning of tiktok, i think people are gonna start paying more attention to visuals. whether that be music videos or award show performances, it could most definitely benefit dopamine (or the sophomore album cycle if that's already in the works). 1
Nefertiti0 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 It looks like Brandon Creed is no longer co-managing her. he didn't mention her in a new article for Billboard and his Good World Management removed post about Dopamine 1

She proved she knows the exact steps to convert hype into a sustained career and grammy run with Doja Cat and Coco Jones. I wouldn't worry at all. Brandon Creed would have been nice to have on board but he clearly prefers pop acts and Normani isn't that (right now at least). I do wish Normani would try to do some pop features again though.
Hey200200 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Idk everytime I look it up it still says he's co managing…I think he only reported on the artists he fully manages by himself Lydia handles her schedules so she would be the one that would give out information about Normani schedules
Cbreezy Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Sigh at the Brandon "is he, isn't he" situation. ANOTHER potential change? I'm one of the folk who has always maintained that her situation is so foundationally bizarre that there has to be something extremely serious and extremely left of what we are thinking at play. Most likely contractual and/or litigious. And I still feel that way. At the same time, there is something very clearly off about the way she's handling her portion of things. Be that her lack of social presence, lack of communication with a dwindling base (that was already small), or agreeing to bad business deals (potentially this joint management thing). I still don't think the "blame-blame" lay at Mani's feet, as I genuinely feel her hands and feet are way more tied than people know/acknowledge. But I guess this a long-winded way of saying a) the part of her narrative that she has control over feels like a mishandled mess and b) the sum of everything (whatever drama she's navigating + her own wrongs) has us watching her potential to blow evaoptorate right in front of our eyes. It's impressive (and slightly surprising) to still see much optimisim from some in here. "All she needs to do is xyz" or she'll win "when she drops the videos". Time is timing. And it doesn't wait for anyone. I HATE industry ageism and thankfully it's not "as" much of thing anymore, but our girl factually started her solo journey as a young 20 soemthing with so much potential. She's now on the cusp of 30 and next to nothing has happened in between. Rooting for her and want her comeback/triumph story to be like no other, but I don't think some of y'all get how dire things actually are. All stan wars, hater shade, and etc aside. 1
justifymythreads Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I told yall that move from Tunji fcked up her momentum. I get why he did it but she should've left with him. I think it didn't make any sense to stay at RCA when you have no real allies. the
Topaz Posted January 16 Posted January 16 After seeing Aly and Aj share their story of how the label thought they had an amazing song but didnt want to push a woman above 30 years old out verses a woman in their 20's makes me believe Mani will proably be cooked because she wasted her youthful part of her catalogue and is now in her slow sensual side which we usually see by a 2nd or third album. Idk if shes marketable anymore either without having a personality or taking advantage of tiktok. 1

Idk if shes marketable anymore either without having a personality or taking advantage of tiktok. Well tbh. That stereotype doesn't hold up in this day and age. Lizzo was 29 when her music finally popped and SZA has been doing amazing lately. I think the issue has always been 2 things her expectations are too high and now that ppl are paying her any attention it's probable going to get worse. Then she keeps wasting money on frivolous things like music videos that never see the light of day. I personally feel like she burned herself flying too close to the son. Now she's at a point that she has to rebuild which is easier said than done for a R&B act. Hence, why the label told her to do pop but she had to be stubborn. 2
