She def will sis. If she ever puts this album out, they'll be in it. I hope that Harv talking about her album and this movie news coming out suddenly, it means they're starting her PR game again for something to happen early next year now that SZA is out of the way

Ikr? They're always in some bullsh*t with another fandom, especially that whole crew with old ass lisaliveson. Normani needs to release music so they can have something to discuss.

Drag IT :fan:.

Them and their crew stay starting half the fandom issues. They should just mind their business. Old and angry people. Sad!

Like, even Swifties drag Normani because of that whole crews antics. Their is no reason the entirety of stan twitter should be dragging Normani when she really doesn't do anything.

Even the BTS fans don’t like Normani now thanks to the Twitter Nation even though Normani got some early attention from the BTS boys during the Love Lies days. They making enemies all over :psyduck:

So, we really got NOTHING. I cannot.

I'm pretty resolute about it not being her fault per se and there's something pretty catastrophic at play behind the scenes between her and RCA.

More than music, I fully expect the next set of headlines about her to be about some kind of severed ties. Be that with the label, management, both.

It's just sad that we're here because nothing good ever (ever) comes out of artists sitting on the bench for this long. The label (who continue to do ish like this) lose out on what could have been a moneymaker and the artist loses any momentum they had.

There's a really limited window to be "new artist" and I fear Normani's is going. I hate the ageism that plagues the industry, but she turns 27 in May. She went from being a fresh faced 22/23 year old with Motivation to nearing 30 now with no solo album to her name and this "she's coming" narrative that has morphed into a joke.

It's not doom and gloom just yet, but I just hope her team understand that it won't be a case of just dropping music when they are ready and hoping for the best. They will have to employ an over and above effort to reshape her story and positioning.

To the first part of this... you're exactly right which is why I couldn't believe the twitter insider still talking about Normani and RCA debating over what type of music she should release. Like is everyone over there including her crazy?? It's been 5 years. She needs to release a full body of work. It doesn't matter if it's opera music at this point. :deadbanana:

As for the second part, I don't have much faith in Brandon in her team but I'm really hoping they don't let her release one song and go totally ghost yet again.

You know that’s exactly what’s gonna happen, unfortunately.

I used to think it was all RCA’s fault but I’m genuinely not sure anymore, especially when it also doesn’t seem like Normani cares about music…

Its sad we'll never know at this point how a budding star is 3 albums behind what she should be. Who tf cares how perfect a debut is. Its a debut. Beyonce didnt get critical acclaim until 4 and now its her best streamed catalogue of her albums with the singles. Esp with 5 years. Its pointless. She could of had a few tiktok streaming giant hits had she released an album with Love Lies/Motivation of a Rnb/Pop record showing her growing from 5H and also RnB routes thats an instant 1 billion streamed album.

Then you have Dancing With A Stranger/Wild Side which shows more of her adult contempoary side she could have promoted and showed she grew from the 5H Normani and had Fair as a Promo single which is another 1 billion streamed album and a guaranteed 2 Platinum/Gold albums under her belt and 2023 was supposed to be her third album. Such a waste imo. Shes shortening her career.

She shoulda been on TV shows or acting in this 5 year span. At least she could of had a oscar or something as a model/actress who dabbled into music later in her 20's

Sigh. Y’all beating a dead horse. It’s clear the situation is just another tale of bad label /management. The label didn’t have faith in the material and wanted her to come out swinging with undeniable hits instead of just letting her build organically. It is what it is. Now she seems to be working on other projects behind the scenes and setting herself up for success in other avenues. She’s been talking about wanting to pursue acting for years now and has shared that she’s been taking lessons. It’s great to see her check that off.

It’s really not woe is me for her. The very worst case for her would be she doesn’t end up being this huge star everybody hoped she would and ends up in the same lanes as a Kehlani or SZA. Known and can sell out theaters. Still successful in her own right.

these leaks.. some i wonder who was thinking not to drop that fire?! it's insane.

TBH, the majority of the blame really rests at the feet of whoever didn't action her going guns blazing with Motivation and whatever album was being worked on around that time.

Timing is absolutely EVERYTHING. For her debut, she could and should have come out with an album of 4-5 Motivations, a few hard-hitting R&B bops, and a handful of slower songs. Essentially a slightly more Urban take on her Fifth Harmony sound.

It's so irritating hearing her talk about her album as if she's making Thriller or Mozart. Not only did her idols just get on with it and get better over time (Bey, Rih), we live in an era where it may be album #2 or #3 that is the big "OMG" moment. It's about putting pedal to the metal and not looking back (Ari, Doja, Dua).

She/her team seem to be seeking this "qualitative breakout moment" that in reality is actually at odds with how the music industry works today.

What's so grating is that she easily could have dropped a slightly cookie cutter debut led by Motivation and had the release of Wild Side, Fair, Candy Paint etc be the introduction to her more mature sophomore album. Sonically, thematically etc it would have worked perfectly like that and would have SHOWN the growth she keeps talking about (but never actually demonstrates to the fullest because she never releases any music lol).

We'd be lucky if she even ends up in their lane.

Y’all are ridiculous. There are folks with less name recognition than Kehlani and SZA living off their music careers. Normani will be just fine.

What I’m gathering is that Normani will drop her album next year and have a movie/more dips in acting next year too. Having an acting career and music career will help capitalize on all her Instagram clout in a way that can pay off way more in the long run (instead of just being an IG model).

If she can get a stable (not iconic but some stable bookings) acting career off the ground, RCA will start raising her priority at the label again.

Also, whether intentional or not, Normani has dropped all expectations for her album which is perfect. Now she doesn’t have to sell 50k to 100k, doesn’t need to get a Grammy out the gate, doesn’t need to go top 10 on Billboard either, and has completely destroyed all the random Beyonce comparisons that were weighing on her.

She can release and live with whatever comes out which is a huge relief to her and probably will help an album 2 come into existence on RCA or independently, sooner than later. :giraffe:

1 on 1, Make It Hard, Runaround and Insomnia would’ve been solid album tracks tbh :jonny5:

This only means that the material we’re getting for her debut is gonna be iconic :jonny:
