I literally came here to ask why this base is so dead when she's finally receiving the recognition she deserves I saw the show last week. I cannot stop thinking about it. Literally one of the best things I've ever seen in my life. NYT said it best - this is a career defining performance, it has to be seen to be believed. Nicole truly is EXTRAORDINARY and by far one of the greatest, most talented and most versatile artists ever. This role will definitely change her life. It's so crazy how the story is relatable to Nicole's life and career trajectory. Norma didn't have her comeback, but Nicole surely IS. She's finally about to receive her flowers. She's already won the Evening Standard award for Best Performance and I truly believe her Olivier is also on lock. Also, it's pretty much confirmed to be transferring to Broadway early 2024, probably around March. Rumors are circulating that the announcement will be made by the end of the year. I pray they don't change a thing about this, not even the cast (or at least the main cast). It's perfect as it is. And if it really ends up transferring early 2024, she could be winning both an Olivier and a Tony next year. Nicole also basically confirmed that there will be a cast recording too. And I hope they could also release a live taping of this. I know it's not the same as physically being there and watching it live, but I need to see it again. Maybe a Live Action televised performance, like Annie live? Nicole is finally on the road to become a LEGEND. I hope the praise and recognition she is currently receiving, and all the awards that she will receive, help her finally make the decision to stop going after Pop/mainstream success and realize that this is where she belongs.

Goddamnit. I only have time to see one show when I’m in London and I picked Sondheim’s Old Friends because of the cast but I was going back and forth between that and this. A Broadway group on FB I’m apart of said it’s probably more likely this will transfer to NYC so I truly hope I made the right choice.

syrus Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I just noticed that her cover of “I Want You Back” is on Apple Music but not Spotify. Weird.

ElectricBlue Posted March 19 Posted March 19 she's been kinda silent lately and i really think now that she's done with the masked singer and until she leaves for broadway there's a huge gap for her to finish and release warrior, like for the first time i actually think it's the right time, at least for her because everyone's releasing this year so... but we'll see

Were we literally three weeks away from getting a bunch of new Dolls music or were the Dolls going to start the tour with “React" as their only new song? It's probably also fair to assume that Nicole did a large part of the recording / executive producing for new Dolls music. Who has ownership of this music? Is Nicole contractually prevented from releasing this music? There's a document in the lawsuit saying that Nicole “shall have final decision making powers in respect of matters pertaining to such recording agreement" but recording is not the same as ownership or distribution. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Marco23 Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Could anyone re-add the What's onstage awards (2024) wins and nominations to the wiki page of Sounset Boulevard (the musical)?

I don't want this to be taken the wrong way. She should feel proud. She is incredibly successful and has created a great lifestyle for herself, which is hard to do in entertainment as you get older. She also seems very happy, both professionally and personally, which is important! It's just frustrating because some of her outstanding work like her performance of Reflection and WINNING AN OLIVIER can get overshadowed by everything else. I don't blame her though. If any of us were her business advisors, could we honestly say that working on an album is the best use of her time and money?

If any of us were her business advisors, could we honestly say that working on an album is the best use of her time and money? Exactly. You hit the nail in the head. I've always thought that her social media presence is... off putting. Not in a negative way, but it's so all over the place and I feel like it somehow turns people off. Not the actual posts, but the timing, the randomness... She would win an Olivier award and would post a ******* random tik tok dance recorded weeks ago. She should either release this 'pop' album and be done with it, get it out of her system. And then just focus on Broadway and a classics/standards covers album. That's her lane and the sooner she realizes it, the better it will be for her. In 2024, without a major label/funding, no one will buy on stream a Nicole song, let alone a full on album. That's just the reality of it. What people WOULD listen, and stream, and buy... is Nicole THE VOCALIST. The PERFORMER. The woman that effortlessly slays any song she covers and always makes it her own, in her unique own version. Give me an album of: 1. Reflection 2. Don't Cry for Me Argentina 3. Beauty and the Beast ft Luke Evans 4. Memory 5. I Put a Spell on You 6. Purple Rain 7. As if we never said soogbye 8. Never Enough 9. With one Look and I GUARANTEE you it will both sell way more AND be more critically acclaimed than a pop record. I feel like she's always have people in her team that have been low-key sabotaging her. Nicole is a genuine one and I feel like she's a bit naive. Which is why she's 'allowed' these people to hold her back. Because she believes what they're telling her. Ugh, Nicole needs a PRODUCER that actually knows her and is able to producer her exactly how she's intended to. /rant

silversurfer Posted August 30 Posted August 30 This is soooooooooooo far away but I just realized that as a "principal vocalist" on the upcoming Sunset Blvd album, Nicole could be in the running for a Grammy in 2026. I completely forgot that there's a category for Best Musical Theater Album and it sounds like she'd be eligible. I hope everything continues to fall into place for her!

MC54 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) Picked up 5th row orchestra seats after work last Wednesday. Waiting for the show, I grabbed the red smoke "NYC exclusive" deluxe vinyl package. It's absolutely gorgeous. Staff said it's only sold at the theater and once they're gone they're gone. So, if you're interested in this show- do it! I waited around for stage door, which I've never done. The cast came out very quickly, and signed for everyone. Nicole came out about an hour later and took her time with signing autographs and taking selfies. She is one of the nicest humans I've ever encountered. Signed my vinyl with a huge signature ontop and posed for photos. She could not have been sweeter. The show is absolutely spectacular and she owns every second she's on stage. Three standing ovations, and her note belting during "As If We Never Said Goodbye" was out of this world. I can't believe the talent. I was in awe. I bought tickets again for next January.
