Agree, I actually don't hate Brown Eyes, it's just that Brown Ass is too funny for me

Maybe June 21th is for the announcement and not the release 

The best strategy these days seems to be to release the lead single relatively close to the album (or even the same day as the album). Drawn out pre-album cycles can be detrimental, since hype dies quickly due to short attention spans. But I guess we are here for the music not the bling so who cares.

I don't know why I'm surprised if at this point we know that Gaga's team is incapable of taking any advantage of the hype.

Billy still announced it more than a month in advance. If the album is coming out on August 2nd, she could announce it on June 21st, and there will be the same gap Billie had.

(They are both with Interscope.)

 

I don't think Gaga has enough streaming power to drop everything at once. Billie's younger fan base makes it easier for her, and she's coming off an Oscar win. Gaga's been doing Nurtec ads, and I don't think the general public knows what she's up to. She could've built hype after the special, but she disappeared instead.
