She has said multiple times that she did L4S because she promised Tony that she would do another jazz album with him. It really is not that deep. She helped her friend celebrate his career and retirement.

if you think she planned for it to be a commercial mega era, you're wrong

she couldn't promote it on her own and she didn't, she felt comfortable knowing she could release another jazz album with her longtime friend and savior while having a small part of her base buying it

also a 71/100 on MC is nothing to be ashamed of especially when all critics were positive or raving but still thought 3/5 stars were enough to be excellent

the album won a Grammy and gave her her FIRST AOTY nod in a decade

 

NOW I wouldn't count a future jazz album, but I think she might actually write and create original pieces rather than covers, didn't she write a song for C2C but they ended up not using it cause they stick to the "all cover album"

I would prefer original jazz songs with some covers sprinkled in. 
Gaga has a long music career ahead of her. I’m sure she will not release another jazz album in the next 6 years,  but there is a huge chance that she will do another one in her 40s, especially when she feels less pressure to make commercial albums

Chromatica did not connect with audience tho, it's at 3M WW after ASIB, with a return to form album that had 2 ENORMOUS streaming friendly acts, got really sampled first day before collapsing to the point where's it's pushing Rare/Smile numbers 2 years later... yeah it did not connect for the amount of exposure it had

 

LFS is a different story, it didn't connect with the GP first bc of its genre and second bc Gaga remains a pop artist and that didn't have half the push C2C had to be as successful

HMH is just a week old with barely any push outside of radio and a movie that's not out

Chromatica was just pretty much a summer album that lasted like end of september when they cut the budget from radio and dropped 911. 

it did sold 3m for like 3 month lasting era already huge. 

 

+ not everyone gotta listen to dance album all the time. 

Chromatica had it moments and it was an event during its period.
