It's the event where they take a picture to all the Oscar nominees.

i doubt that will smith will be punching anyone this year, not sure about rihanna upstaging Gaga in a performance capacity or a win.

So,... Gaga has the chance to design a performance, and red carpet so strong that the next day she is centre of attention and this in turn can help her streams - and add to the topgun legacy.

Although i doubt HMH is winning sh*t or doing anything except stabilise above 200k if she's lucky

Future nostalgia was released two months ahead of Chromatica, while Gaga’s album dropped right during the week of the George Floyd murder and at the start of protests. She was getting dragged for her life on twitter when she posted something like “now everybody dance!” at midnight. The protests and Covid effectively put a 3 month stop on the Chromatica era that was only resurrected for the VMA performance.

For the public, performances like 'Shallow' are surprising.

Gaga fans have to understand something: she can't surprise us anymore. We've seen her do everything. We've seen her accomplish everything. There is just nothing left for her to do. That's no one's fault and is just a product of stanning someone who has been through it all. All we can do is just sit back and try to enjoy what she does give us without expectation.

a Danger Zone / HMH medley would immediately become the most talked and acclaimed performance of the night, not that borefest tribute song or random Indian dance break

Doja is #11 and she is doing around 11M streams. The only way she is out soon is if someone behind drops new music.

Yep, she did. But that's not good enough for Gaga fans.

The VMA performance is really the kind of performance we can expect from now on. It was clear, executed well, and overall a good performance. She's not going to be coming out of eggs and hanging from the ceiling anymore. It would feel reductive.
