I don't know much about labels and stuff but I'm starting to think she is indeed working on some music and considering that she is divorcing from Scam, it might be a way for her to escape reality a bit.

 

I have to be honest though eventhough y'all are going to attack me, I feel like there's no demand or hype for new Britney music.

Britney is much bigger as a celebrity nowdays than as an artist. People don't care for new music from her but they're always perched to read what medias have to say about her life. Music has also evolved so much since the last time she did good (so Femme Fatale era), those who consume music mainly listen to rap/rnb/hip hop/males and what used to make Britney big (her charisma, performing skills, dancing, music videos, personnality, gimmicks, etc...) is not important at all nowadays for most people. Her image is also pretty bad for the general public.
