Yes, I book marked the video where it happens. There's another video with the angle you see me at, but we don't need to see that one

She was probably laughing at the person behind you.

The Mrs Carter Show vs I Am World Tour

Which Tour is BETTER and WHY?

Gif of the Day:

IAWT is just Beyoncé

TMCSWT is Illuminati BEYONCÉ

2011-2020 isn't even comparable to the what she's given and what she's trying to sell us on. THAT was the time to stan Bey in all her glory. Not too accessible, but not too exclusive.

As much as I love the whole shoot and the art style she went for the tourbook, it feels all over the place and not connected at all :gaycat6:

FORMATION is Bey's BEST Tour.

Let's discuss why, if you disagree state your case.

This is correct.

I'm sorry but she was a beast on this tour. Her dancing and singing for 2.5 hours straight. The setlist is perfect. 6 inch?!!!! Wild.

RWT has beautiful gowns gorgeous gowns but FWT is Beyoncé at her peak. And it's sleek and cinematic. I wish we had a copy of it. I'd much prefer it has her definitive performance over Coachella just in the way she incorporated technology (since she had been experimenting with the screens since 2011) into what she does best.

and now we get the anxiety riddled robot who doesn't leave her house and can't be bothered to pick up a mic more than twice a decade :tornado:

I've ragged slightly on the RWT lately so I'll say one thing:

The End of Time/Cuff It Wetter/Energy/BMS/Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough/Vogue/Queens Remix sequence is impeccable

Regarding the tour discourse, FWT will always be her best tour, hands down. One of my biggest regrets in life is not finding a way to see that show live. Yes, the RWT is a lot more fun, colorful, vibrant, and vocally way more impressive. It can easily be seen as her best tour in other regards, and I much prefer the aesthetic vision and concept of Ren, but none of that really compares to the apex performer we got during the FWT. That setlist doesn't have a single dull moment (whereas RWT's energy kinda plummets around BP/MP and outside of Heated and CIL doesn't really pick up again. I could feel people sighing and getting antsy before AHAP even started, and "Summer Renaissance" being the awfully executed closer that it is didn't really help :rip: yes Halo is tired as hell but it just WORKS as a closer, while this didn't (still loved the outro remix tho).

The lack of hits during RWT really takes a toll on the overall energy, and the audience seemed a bit confused or uninterested during songs like Church Girl (I'll never not cringe at her telling people to "go crazy" while she literally stands there doing nothing :deadbanana4:).

I loved RWT's stage, screens, inclusion of props, and especially the cinematic camera angles (those were absolutely chef's kiss and her best ever. Getting your performance to look like a highly choreographed music video LIVE is devilish work :clap3:. But i just loved the FWT screen more and the whole futuristic robot Ren concept kinda falls apart around the middle of the concert, the storyline could've been a bit tighter and better executed throughout the whole set idk.

Lastly, while I do love seeing her bubbly, more carefree, fun side on stage since OTR II, I'd rather see Beyoncé the perfectionist robot idc, that's simply what sets her apart from other performers, and it's one of the main reasons I fell in love with her :alexz3:

Literally the most joyous moment I've experienced in a live concert. I'm still so mad we did not get a live album. :rip:

I do wonder whether it's because the sheer number of samples (including Milkshake) would just be too much of an expense legally to clear

I'm sorry but there is just no way The Formation Tour is better than the Renaissance Tour.

:rip:

She's one of the very few artists who's tours were better than the last one they did.

A very rare feat.

The interludes/segues were ten times better on RWT. I mean Opulence and Memories alone >>>>>>>>>>>>

RWT and FWT are objectively superior tours, but there's something about Bey's showmanship throughout The Beyonce Experience that will always make it one of my favorites. I almost prefer the stripped stage production, but that could also just be nostalgia at play.

One true criticism I have is all of the smoking, like does she really need to glamorize smoking as often as she does?  Like it doesn't look cool :rip:

She's a fundamentally well-behaved, nice Southern girl so that's the kind of thing she thinks is edgy. :rip:

FWT was Beyoncé at her best as an all around entertainer. But the set list was ALL OVER THE PLACE. And the fact we didn't get PYCM which is hands down the best song off Lemonade irritated me.

RWT supported one of the greatest albums of all time. And she performed that album for us. Her vocals >>> FWT. The interludes >>> FWT. Her looks >>> FWT. And she just looked happier and it translated to the joy the audience felt.

If I remember correctly a while ago she picked up the habit of enjoying cigars after Jay put her on. :mazen:  I have to agree with this because it doesn't align with the brand. But it does work for her visuals.

Right, and it probably was edgy 1-2 decades ago, but now it just looks gross :rip:

Smoking where? In the REN visuals we have yet to see? Or the tour interludes?

For proper tours I'd say MCSWT. But my personal all time favorite is EOT at REVEL.

It just felt so majestic. And she revamped the choreo from the 2011 promo run. I loved it.

I think for REN album photoshoot she is holding a cigar in one pic of her red inflatable "ON AIR" look (or it might be a pen she's bitting I could be wrong). But for the limited cover art/photoshoot for CC (or rather act ii BEYINCÉ) she's also holding a cigar

edit: I was wrong about the first pic lol

The vocals were on adderall, the editing is giving Michael Jackson Tour Realness, the Thierry Mugler bodysuit is everything!!!! This opening is just so powerful and the way she performs 'Crazy In Love' is just euphoric. I felt as though she was having fun the entire time.
