It won't on the album chart, but I think it has a chance at challenging Texas Hold 'Em's potential 3rd week at #1, especially considering Drake is featured on a song coming out Friday, where he might be responding to Kendrick --> both their fan bases being riled up again.

Local means midnight wherever you are. Global, Ironically, means midnight in one of the USA timezones for everyone.

Also local is basically good for chart purposes while global is better to prevent early leaks?

It makes no sense to release it local this time. That would mean it's out at 7am today in New York and 4am in LA, so a full day of a leak in the US and Europe. Also she held back the physicals in stores for a reason.

Yes. The moment it comes out the album is effectively intentionally "leaked". Each chart would run on it's own time, so from a global perspective it is better for charting. For overall numbers on streaming etc, I'd assume it is worse. The impact would be minimal though.

Last time it came out at midnight locally, surely you remember? Maybe the leak confused it for everyone.

Hmm, I think id honestly prefer a global release then. I think the international buzz happening in real time is just more immense that way and it feels silly to make the tracklist such a mystery only for furthering an "intentional" leak

You know what would be sickening? A second Verizon ad, this time her in Country attire walking around the studio where they intentionally show her listening to Mileys Flowers in front of a Dolly statue, in the background you see the certifications of the Beatles and other Easter eggs like that.

She could then basically just quickly say to tune in this Friday for the release of the album
