Mawma she doesn’t need $24 million from Dubai. She can make that money in more ethical ways under capitalism which we all know is an inherently unethical system. Again the timing is poor, LGBT+ pride album being performed for elites in a homophobic country. Why are you acting so close minded about this??

You don't know what she needs...she obviously said yes for a reason. Nothing is unethical about it any more than her performing in the USA. This is for the grand opening of a hotel resort....not the president of Dubai. It's not closeminded...its logical.

Begging Kimberley to do your job for you, because you can't dispute any of my points? Figures. Funny how I haven't actually stated any lies, you just don't like my opinion on the subject.

Keep crying because I came back to clock your hypocritical bootlicking though. :heart2:

You have no points. You’re the ultimate bootlicker and the biggest hypocrite in here.

you came back to weep once you saw nobody was going to ride your miserable little wave with you.

Funny, I don't remember you having this take when people are fighting for racial equality whilst using their iPhones. You know, if everyone has to be fighting for absolutely every cause simultaneously, otherwise their arguments and activism should be ignored. :coffee2:

You also don’t remember me name calling and attacking differences of opinion.

What I said still stands.  There is a huge issue with children and women being overworked, sexually assaulted, and abused under poor working conditions to mass produce in the fashion industry. But you likely have never had any issue with Beyoncé or any other pop star on the cover of VOGUE.

You cannot call people bootlickers when it suits your agenda.  You are just as complicit.

Nobody NEEDS $24 MILLION like sis :clown:. Yes it’s more unethical, at least the U.S. pretends to have some rights and we just recently codified federal protection for marriage equality :bird:. She was also born in the U.S. and lives here, performing in the country makes sense. Going across the world to perform at a hotel resort in a homophobic country is not logical it’s gross :supaspaz:

First of all, I didn’t say these issues were identical. But are you denying that capitalism and commercialism is still at the root of Beyoncé being in a position to land a $24 million payday?  That was my point.  And much like this argument, there are a myriad of issues you can unpack that directly impact the conditions of human life.  Especially at the farming & labor level.

Of course we can survive in a capitalistic state.  But it doesn’t make it any less ethical.

Next.

Your bottom line argument doesn't mean anything, it's just hot air. Capitalism cannot determine the full implications of any meaningful topic. Someone can be promoting a healthy protein shake and someone else a dangerous weightloss pill... both actions can be driven by capitalism, but they're ultimately separate actions with different ethical weight behind them. You can support one but be critical of the other.

You say that as if I'm name calling you in that post. Or are you just choosing to victimise yourself for another reason? Your point does not stand, because it's absolutely ridiculous to be expecting people to be fighting for all causes simultaneously, otherwise their activism is irrelevant.

I don't know much about the poor working conditions of the fashion industry, but would love to be educated on that at a time that isn't explicitly being used to distract from another conversation. But nobody has attempted to do that when VOGUE threads appear. If I was purposefully ignoring that when those conversations are arising, then absolutely call me out for complicity and bootlicking, but right now you're using a "whataboutism" argument because you're unhappy that I'm holding Beyoncé accountable for this poor decision.

:toofunny3: And who exactly am I bootlicking, sis? Aren't you the one crying that she's not a politician, whilst she's made a career off her political views? Meanwhile I've had support from several members in this thread, both publicly and privately. Meanwhile you're getting dragged as one of the most obnoxious users in the Basé. :)

You're never going to be confronted with this particular moral dilemma so you'll be fine.

Why would I unstan? I don’t like her decision and I’m voicing my opinion. When your mom does your laundry incorrectly do you move out of the basement?

Ideally she would see the backlash and reconsider worst case scenario nothing happens but at least I stood up and didn’t let my morals crumble like you :clown:
